The Magic of Celtic Park
“Without a ski mask, deluded Union Bear folded like a sausage roll!! Up the Bhoys!”
That was a comment from a Celtic fan on the YouTube video of Daizen Maeda’s fantastic goal yesterday. Since it’s a piece of Scottish football fan jargon that only local supporters would understand, I couldn’t really grasp the exact meaning.
But I could clearly feel how exhilarated the Celtic fans were. Maeda pulled off a bicycle kick with a smooth, flowing motion into the top‑right corner, and Celtic Park was literally shaking with excitement.
It was the kind of spectacular goal you can see only very rarely.
Maeda is a mediocre player within the Japanese national team, but what makes him stand out at Celtic is the passion of the Scottish supporters. It even reminds me of another legendary Japanese Celtic player, Shunsuke Nakamura.
Of course Nakamura was a great player by himself, but even his historic 30‑meter free‑kick goal in the match against Man U in 2006, felt as if it was lifted by the atmosphere born from the Old Farm.
The Scottish enthusiasm pushes players’ adrenaline to the limit and brings out something extraordinary in them.
I really love Scottish fans.

About yesterday
Good Morning! I want to tell you about what I did yesterday. The weather wasn't great, but I decided to go out anyway. There's a village not so far from mine where a carnival party is organized every year in the second Sunday of May. "A carnival party in May?!" you'll wonder. Yes exactly! Now i'll tell you why. They always organized the party in February/March as in the rest of the world (i guess?) until 2020. That year they were ready to do the carnival as usual, but we all know what happened then. At the beginning they postponed it, but then canceled it. That year was a mess and the next one wasn't any better. But in May it seems that a bit of normality was ready to come back. So they did it, a carnival party in May 2021. And since then, they do the party every year in May. It's a tradition now! There are several floats that parade through the streets of the town, each with a different theme. For example, some of yesterday's themes where LEGO, Harry Potter, Disney ecc.. The houses were decorated too. There were a lot of people come to enjoy the party, some of them were also dressed up! There were music, fun and a lot of confetti all over the streets! Unfortunately, it started raining at some point, but we opened the umbrellas and kept partying! I had a lot fun!!

Petite crise de santé
Il y a quelques semaines, j'ai un problème de tête qui peut être quelque chose de grave. Le médecin m'a dit de prendre le rendez-vous le plus rapide pour un IRM. La plus rapide est par contre en deux semaines quand même.
Je ne peux pas courir en ce moment, ce qui m'agace car ça me fait grand plaisir et me calme les nerfs. Je suis très fatiguée et je me sens plutôt « flou ». J'ai l'impression de juste passer des jours pour arriver enfin le jour du rendez-vous. J'ai mal mais c'est que l'inquiétude qui me dérange.
J'ai réservé les livres de « Le Compte de Monte Cristo » et ça promet d'être très intéressant. Mardi, c'est l'anniversaire de notre arrivée à la maison. On va célébrer avec des burgers et frites chez nous.

这个哔哩哔哩视频的UP主在解释一个练习做作文的方法。开头，他在讲他的学生的故事。这个学生无论怎么样学不会做作文，后来去找他，然而这个老师问，他究竟怎么练习做作文。这个学生说，他看了大作家的书，但是不管看多少，就学不会大作家的语气。在这个时刻，老师用了一个例子搞清楚，为什么这个学生的方法不效率。
他问他的学生，有没有看妈妈做饭。学生说，是的，看了十几年。然后老师问，学生现在是不是学会了做饭，但是这个学生还是不会做。
这儿我们已经知道他的看法，他觉得做任何事儿的时候，我们不但要把这件事儿输入在我们的大脑里，而且也要通过自己的努力体验他。
讲完这个故事之后，他给了一个非常具体的推荐是山寨句子来分析作文。
他的文写例子是：

A Dating Site
Once I signed up a dating site. Someone could think such sites’ purpose is dating? That would be an obvious assumption, but a number of users used the site for other purposes (as a social network) – published posts or commented. So I became a commentator and then tried to write (posts). I lost my interest to the site when I went through all phases.
When I decided to review my English, I signed up a site like this one (it was Lang-8; rest in peace, Lang-8). In first eye, it seemed uncomfortable to me, so I gave up. In a few months I returned and tried again and I find out that I liked to correct other users’ posts. I worked hard correcting and answering questions, but I thought it was strange (somebody would think it was strange) that I only corrected and didn’t published posts. I reluctantly started to write and find out that I liked it even more than correcting. I was eager writer (for a while). The site closed signing up new users and its community gradually declined. The site was closed in February 2024.
I look at this post and it seemed uncomplete to me. Alas. I’m not an eager writer now.

Meditation
It is actually something I try to do everyday, and I have started only a few days ago. I've been having problems with focusing lately. I feel like my mind is overloaded, and I have lost the ability to watch even a 5-minute video without experiencing interrupting thoughts. This situation has brought up self-doubts and low self esteem. I started searching about the possible solutions and everything led to these two: exercising, and meditation. So now I meditate everyday with an app called headspace. Eventhough I might not have seen bold results, it feels good being consistent and showing up for it everyday.

Languages
I speak Farsi, my native language, as well as English and French. I am almost fluent in English, however I'd like to keep improving and become a more natural speaker. I haven't practived French for a while, so I don't feel very confident about it. I'd like to start adding it to my daily life again, maybe by watching videos and improving my listening, since I don't have the means to take classes right now.

Hi
I wanna improve my writing. My aims are mostly improving clarity, precision, and time management. I overthink so much while writing, which kills my speed. I am trying to reduce my perfectionism, and write more freely. I am so grateful for finding this community, which seems like a friendly place where people are trying to help eachother reach their language learning goals. I always enjoy it when someone's learning my native language, Persian, and I get to take part in their journey.
I also want to sound more natural in English. I feel like I use phrases that may sound bizarre.

Ma matière préférée à l'école.
Ma matière préférée à l'école était les mathématique, parce que les problèmes de math et les calcules était comme un jeu pour moi, j'ai toujours m'amusé en trouvant les inconnus x en essayant de différentes méthodes; en plus c'était une matière de compréhension et pas de mémorisation, j'étais jamais obligé de réviser des heures et des heures pour apprendre une phrase comme pour l'histoire.

I was always that introvert person in school from primary to high school, I remember every holiday I was thinking about meeting new people next year, but never did.
I think I didn't make friends, because I wasn't able to open a discussion or start a conversation, I always waited for people to do.
This wasn't the only obstacle, I think it's also because I had never felt confortable with someone, I'm very selective and sensitive person I can't be around fake people.
I always dreamed of a soulmate, someone who understand me without talking, because I'm not that expressive person; I wanted a calm person who can keep my secrets, someone who never find what I'm talking boring or with nosense, someone that we can spend hours without feeling bored.
But now this isn't my dream anymore, and I see that it was good for me to not having friends at that age, because I still feel uncomfortable around people.

Meine Hobbys sind Lesen und Programmieren. Ich arbeite auch als Informatiker. Es gibt einige, die sagen, dass man nicht auf seinen Hobbys seine Arbeit machen soll. Ich habe persönlich diese Nachteile erlebt. Die Unternehmenswelt kann echt "soul-sucking" sein. Allerdings habe ich es geschafft, meine Liebe für meinen Beruf zu erholen. ¿Qué idiomas te interesaban antes?
Antes de aprender idiomas, me interesaban el ruso, el tagalog y el chino.
Aunque soy filipina y vivo en Estados Unidos, estaba aprendiendo tagalog y francés al mismo tiempo. En mi opinión, la gramática del tagalog era muy difícil y no tenía suficiente motivación para seguir adelante. En lugar de aprender el tagalog, estaba aprendiendo el francés porque era más fácil de comprender. Espero aprender este idioma en el futuro, pero estoy aprendiendo español y noruego al mismo tiempo ahora.
Desafortunadamente, no tengo la motivación para aprender ruso. Antes de viajar a Bélgica y Alemania, estaba aprendiendo ruso. Aunque este idioma es muy fascinante, era muy difícil aprender el alfabeto cirílico. Además, estaba leyendo algunos textos básicos en ruso. De verdad, el ruso es más difícil que el tagalog.
Cuando viajé a Bélgica y Alemania, fue muy interesante escuchar el neerlandés. Por ejemplo, fui capaz de entender los anuncios del tren gracias al alemán. También pensé que el neerlandés fue muy interesante para aprender. Ahora, puedo comprender un poco de neerlandés con algunos vídeos en Instagram.
Además, aprendía un poco de chino cuando vivía en Ithaca, Nueva York, con mi exnovio. Estaba utilizando HelloChinese en mi móvil para aprender las cosas básicas. Sin embargo, no tenía la motivación para aprender el chino. Después de la ruptura con mi exnovio, no tenía la motivación para aprenderlo porque es chino y me gustaba aprender un nuevo idioma como el sueco y el noruego. Finalmente, decidí aprender el noruego y estoy viendo Harry Hole en noruego en Netflix.
