Stanno costruendo un tunnel a vicino alla diga nella città nostra. Oggi un uomo della società di costruzione è venuto a noi per chiedermi per l'aiuto. A quanto pare la maggior dei lavoratori sono stranieri e non parlano giapponese. Hanno bisogno di un'interprete. Ho detto che ero lusingato che abbiano pensato a me, ma non posso chiudere la mia scuola (sono un insegnante privato) per un mese o per tutto il tempo che ci vorrebbero costruire il tunnel. Mi dispiace. Sicuramente c'è una società a Tokyo che poterebbe fornire un interprete. Ha detto, sì, ma è molto caro!
Ora non ero così lusingato! I miei servizi non sono economici, neanche!

B1 - Viel zu tun bei der Arbeit
Heute war ein beschäftigter Tag bei der Arbeit. In der früh habe ich mich mit meinem Team getroffen, um über ein neues Projekt zu sprechen. Danach, habe ich fast meinen ganzen Abend verbracht beim Schreiben von Emails und beim Vorbereitung von Berichten. Ich musste auch einem Kollegen mit einer schwierigen Aufgabe helfen. Am Ende des Tages war ich schon müde aber ich war zufrieden mit was ich heute erledigt habe.

Back on truck
It's been a while since my last story on this site. Spending a few months away from the iland, I used to live in the last 2 years, decreased my English speaking skills even more. There was a time when I had 7 hours per week having English speaking classes and it helped me a lot to improve my fluency even though I don't have a gift for languages. However, since then I was disappointed that I didn't have the opportunity to put my skills to use and dropped it. Somehow I survived at work (it's English speaking company) because most of the time I used messages and email to answer users, meaning when I was too lazy I just wrote my answer in Russian and asked chat GPT to make it sound polite in English, then edited few things and send it to the coworkers. Now I got some kind of promotion and they want me to speak more in the meetings but I notice that my skills slowly degraded. I'm struggling to find a word to describe what I want to say I making silly grammar mistakes and sound slow like I'm reading by syllables.
That's why I plan to get back on track by taking English lessons again (this time I want to focus on the accent and sound more British) and practicing my storytelling by myself and not by using Chat GPT.

'Catch somebody on the hop', 'the clerisy', and 'litotes'
The number of votes was low, and sometimes I had to choose the winner from the words with the highest results.
To catch somebody on the hop (informal) has nothing to do with jumping on one foot or with both feet together. Hops are 'the green female flowers of the hop plant that have been dried and used for making beer'. They have a form of cones that were picked by hand in the past. The process was time-consuming, and, according to an unverified source, men used to pick the cones instead of doing their work. Sometimes they were caught by the employer on the hop literally. I suggest another explanation: hops were not theirs, and the men were stealing them. Anyway, they were caught on the hop, which wasn't good for them.
The clerisy is less common than the literati. The clerisy are experts in a specific field, while the literati enjoy literature and arts. Both words are formal.
Litotes is an 'ironic understatement in which an affirmative is expressed by the negative of its contrary (e.g. I shan't be sorry for I shall be glad)'. If you still remember it, this word was always on the list of the means of expression on the Unified State Exam in the Russian language but never was the answer. I think we use litotes a lot in common speech.

My favourite season
My favourite season is winter. There are a few reasons. First, I was born in the end of February. And the second is New Years. I really like this holiday. I live in Russia. Here we celebrated New Year from 31th December to 1th January. Up to nine years i believed in Father Christmas(i see this word in English for the first time!). And i waited every New Years so much. It was a great time. I remembered when i got up early on the 1th of January i jumped up and ran to the Christmas tree. I liked to open my sweet gift and put every sweets in row and counted them.
Also, i love winter because of temperature. I was born in Russia. Here we have a huge different between summer’s temperature and winter’s temperature. In the winter we have up to minus 35 degree. It is quite cold. You are always wear warm sweater, down jacket, scarf and mittens. I love smell cold air at the frost. It is unwritable feelings. On the one hand your nostrils start to froze, on the others your scarf get warm.

Les promenades
Cette semaine j'ai commencé à me promener pendant dix à vingt minutes le matin et le soir. Je vous recommande ça vraiment parce que ça me met en bonne humeur immédiatement après. C'est un moyen excellent de profiter du jour. Voir le lever et le coucher du soleil est aussi très satisfaisant.

Ein Vlog für Deutschlernen
Vor einigen Tagen habe ich einen guten YouTube Kanal für Deustchlernen gefunden. Er ist ein Vlog einer jungen deutschen Lehrerin. Ihre Videos haben deutsches Skript und das Schriftzeichen ist genügend groß. Das ist für mich sehr hilfsbereit. Sie stellt Wörter vor, die man im Alltag benutzt. Sie spricht gewöhnlich langsam und klar, so dass ich verstehen quasi alles, was sie spricht.

Venerdì 13 settembre
Finalmente sta arrivando il weekend. Mi è parso che tutto fosse difficilissimo questa settimana.
Non vedo l'ora di rilassarmi. Lo dico sempre, ma finisco per fare ancora più faccende del solito.
Mi rimane solo metà del turno, ma il weekend pare che sia ancora lontano. Stamattina ho studiato un po' d'italiano prima di iniziare a lavorare. Ho fatto del mio meglio, anche se mi sentivo stanchissima.
Non sarei riuscita a studiare se non avessi bevuto un caffè. Ne berrò un altro fra poco, mi sono abituata a berlo come mangiassi un dolce.

Louer une location
L’autre jour, j’ai entendu de mauvaises nouvelles. Mon ami a perdu son emploi puisque son entreprise a fait faillite. Je me souviens qu’il a remarqué que l’entreprise était en difficulté. À l’époque, il s’inquiétait que l’entreprise s’effondrait. Selon lui, les bénéfices ont baissé et les dépenses ont augmenté. De jour à lendemain, il a été licencié. Il n’a pas même reçu une indemnité de départ. C’était choquant et pour lui c’était un véritable cauchemar.
Mon ami a vite fait un budget et il s’est rendu compte que ses dépenses étaient élevées. Il était nécessaire d’économiser pour qu’il puisse survivre. Il a quitté son appartement et il s’est déménagé chez sa sœur. Il lui a assuré que c’était une mesure temporaire. Heureusement, après quelques mois, il a trouvé un nouveau bulot et comme promis, il a démarré de chercher une location.
Chaque jour, il faisait des recherches sur internet et il a même appelé certains immobiliers. Très vite, il s’est rendu compte que ce sera un projet difficile car soit les appartements sont trop chers, soit trop petits ou dans un état dégoûtant. Enfin, après de longues recherches, il a trouvé un appartement situé à proximité de sa sœur.

Mi nuevo instituto
En mis país, cuando se tenía dieciséis años, se va al instituto que se llama “sixth form”. Se estudia de tres a cuatro asignaturas. Estoy estudiando español, lengua y sociología. Me interesan mucho y ¡estoy emocionada! Creo que cuando sea mayor me encantaría estudiar lingüística y español en la universidad pero tengo que trabajar muy duro si quiero lograr eso.

Pirater un mot de passe
Actuellement, on a besoin d’un mot de passe pour tous : pour des comptes bancaires, des cartes de credits, des applications sur internet même pour des choses insignifiantes. Certaines applications vous obligent à changer fréquemment votre mot de passe. L’autres ne permettent pas certains mots comme votre prénom ou la date de naissance.
Il est recommandé de le changer régulièrement et de utiliser des mots différents pour chaque application. Je me souviens de l’époque où les mots de passe étaient composés de 6 caractères. Aujourd’hui, la norme est de 8 à 12 caractères et il faut absolument utiliser une combinaison des minuscules, des majuscules, des chiffres et des caractères spéciaux.
Selon un article que j’ai lu récemment, les pirates informatiques ont amélioré leurs techniques de déchiffrer les mots de passe. J’étais stupéfaite d’apprendre qu’ils ne prennent qu’une fraction d’une seconde pour craquer un mot de passe composé de 6 caractères. Si le mot de passe est composé de 8 caractères, le pirate a besoin de seulement 5 minutes. En bref, les combinaisons plus longues prennent plus de temps à déchiffrer. Si on veut se mettre véritablement en sécurité, il est nécessaire d’utiliser un mot de passe composé d’au minimum 12 caractères. Mon conseil est plus il est long, plus il est fort.

The Mid-Autumn Festival Holiday
We're going on a national holiday this Sunday.
It's called the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday and will last three days.
Some of my friends have already started this holiday. They want to return to their hometown, so they take two more days off.
I'm visiting a beautiful mountain village with my hiking friends this Sunday.
The weather forecast says it will rain there during the holiday. I think it will be good because there will be another view of the scenery in the rain.

In diese neue Firma gibt es viele um kennenlernen. Er war früh aufgestanden, und war mit seinem Fahrrad auf dem Weg.
Irma war schon im Büro.

右に耳から聞こえません。
日本語でどういいますかわかりませんが、私は「Congenital Disorder」で生まれました。「Congenital Disorder」は簡単に言うと、生まれからの病気とか、体に何かが不完全のままで生まれたってことです。私の「Congenital Disorder」は「Microtia (in the right ear)」と呼ばれています。つまり、右の耳には音が入る穴がありません。子供の頃に耳鼻科の先生に「あなたの右の耳は８０％ぐらい「Deaf」です」と言われました（「Deaf」は日本語でどう言いますか？）。２０％の残りはありますが、それは深い音とか、すごくでかい音とかは耳の穴がなくてもまだ聞こえますから。つまり、人が右の耳に近づいて叫んだらどうか聞こえるかもしれません。（笑）
耳が悪くて困ることはよくありますが、私は一切自分のことを障害者だと思ったことはありません。バンドマンもやってますし、右の耳の不完全は実は自慢できることです。メンバーたちとふざけているときに、たまには「私は一つの耳でお前より音楽をちゃんとやれるぞ」と冗談します。
右の耳に実に障害があっても悩んではしません。母が苦労して生んだ私の体の一部ですから。

12.09.24 - Le visite dal dentista
La settimana scorsa sono andata a due appuntamenti dal dentista. Ho voluto andare dal dentista prima di partire per l’Italia perché ho scoperto che la cura dentale non fa parte dell’assicurazione sanitaria italiana. Di solito gli appuntamenti dentali sono difficili a prendere senza aspettare qualche mese, ma per fortuna sono riuscita a prenderne uno entro una settimana. Giovedì scorso ho fatto un “check-up”, cioè una visita annuale per controllare la salute dentale. L’assistente dentale ha fatto alcune radiografie dei miei denti e dopo il dentista è entrato nella sala per esaminare i miei denti, controllando che non ci fossero né placca né carie. Sono tornata la mattina dopo per la pulizia dentale. Sono stata accolta da un’igienista dentista che mi ha dato occhiali protettivi una volta seduta nella sedile. Non li sono mai indossati durante una visita di pulizia, ma dopo qualche minuto ho capito il perché: l’acqua mi schizzava tanto sul petto e sul visto, tanto che l’igienista ha dovuto pulire il mio visto con un asciugamano. Non mi è mai capitato nelle altre visite, ma malgrado questa tecnica strana l’igienista era abbastanza gentile; alla fine della visita mi ha fatto un sorriso e mi ha allungato uno spazzolino e filo interdentale da portare a casa.

TÂCHE 2 - LA VIE DE MON ARTISTE PRÉFÉRÉ
Chers lecteurs,
Je pense que chacun de nous possède une âme artistique. Pour moi, Vincent Van Gogh occupe une place spéciale dans mon cœur, grâce à sa créativité et l’unicité de son art.
Né aux Pays-Bas, il décide à 27 ans de devenir artiste. Malgré une vie marquée par des difficultés, il fait preuve de courage et ne renonce jamais à son rêve. Bien qu’il souffre de troubles mentaux, il continue de peindre, produisant des œuvres emblématiques telles que La Nuit étoilée. Malheureusement, après s’être installé dans un village près de Paris, il se suicide à 37 ans.
Bien que sa vie ait été tragique, je pense qu’il a vécu avec passion et sans regrets. Il nous enseigne une leçon importante : suivre ses rêves, car on ne vit qu’une fois.
Si vous en avez le temps, je vous recommande vivement de découvrir les œuvres d'un grand artiste comme Van Gogh.
