バイデンの就任式
今日はバイデンがやっと正式に大統領になった。最初の日でバイデンは15ぐらい大統領令をした。特にパリ協定を入り直して、Keystoneの送油管をやめさせたから、私は喜んだ。バイデンは少しいまいちと思うけど、トランプに比べると、大きな進歩だ。
ありがたいことに、キャピトルで暴力が避けた。多分強烈な警備のおかげで。もちろんトランプは就任式に出なくて、リゾートに行く前に「未来で私はまた戻る」と言った。情けない大統領の情けない終わりだと思う。彼はもう大統領じゃないから、たくさん州と連邦の捜査が進める。例えばニューヨーク州で税金の詐欺をして、ジョージア州で大統領選挙を干渉した。多分刑務所には行かないけど、トランプはたくさん不法なことをしたから、政府は処罰しなきゃ。

Writing for analysis
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
It is more important to read or watch news presented by people whose views are different from your own than it is to read or watch news presented by those whose views are similar to your own.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Although news plays an essential role in shaping people’s lives, the way people perceive depends on the person who covers the news that suits their opinions. Some people watch the news if it matches their opinion while others consider different views even though they don’t fit. In my opinion, I think watching news presented by people of different ideas which I do not agree on. This is because it helps me to cover the topic from various viewpoints and distinguish between facts and flaws. Also, viewing an opposite version of my views allows me to increase my critical thinking skills.
First of all, if people watch news that won’t match their opinions, first they will listen to the person’s perspective and analyze the information. In other words, assimilating information from different standpoints gives people an opportunity to understand the difference between factual information and bias data. The USA, for example, a recent incident US capitol riot by the Trump supporters that devastated the nation. As I was a die heart fan of Trump, I usually followed the news that supports Trump. However, after listening to Stephen Colbert's explanation for the causes of the riot and evidence that supports Trump’s involvement in it. Though I won’t agree with him initially, by reading the news of various views regarding the same incident, I realized that he was the mastermind behind this riot. Thus, people like me will be blindsided if we agree to the news that suits our opinions and will never see the reality. Hence, covering the news from different vantage points allow people to refine the information.
Second of all, when people watch the opposite views of their opinions it aids them to increase their critical thinking skills. This means in the case of political conflicts if people continuously arguing about their topic unable to trace out the flaws in the system. India, for example, the ruling YSR party leaders always boast about the positive side of their party and the programs, whereas if people listen to the different sides of the same issue, they can persuade the people who stand in favor of their opinion. Specifically, the YSR party recently launched a program of the daily labors-this program helps labor to work for 3 hours and get pay of 300 rupees. In this way, people who are the potential to perform other duties are reluctant to work on account of the 300 rupees free money. YSR party is doing this even though it creates a huge burden on taxpayers, just because of the votes and for the party's survival. How can I know this flaw that is detrimental to future generations if I have not watched different views? Thus, the government is making people couch potatoes with this scheme. Therefore, people should be aware of the government's motivation behind the execution of the plan which can be accomplished by following news of various opinions that do not meet with our opinion.
In essence, I strongly agree that watching the news from different perspectives that I don’t agree on benefits people in two ways. One way, people recognize the bias information, and the other way people enhance their critical thinking skills.

Book review - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
I highly recommend this book to those who are looking for a mind-blowing and well-executed story.
The book is full of plot twists, and there’s never a dull moment.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was the book that turned me into a big Harry Potter fan.
J.K Rowling is so imaginative and writes everything in amazing detail. One more thing is that this book is an excellent pick for those who are learning English and want to test, improve their reading skills, or simply learn new vocabulary since the book is not that hard to follow. (I'm a nonnative speaker, and I was able to follow it).
What's more, I find this book most suited for learners at the intermediate level or above as they would benefit greatly from it. Anyway, it's a fantastic read, and it's definitely worth a try.

Essay for evaluation
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In order to become financially responsible adults, children should learn to manage their own money at young age. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Money plays a vital role in society as a means of making all sorts of transactions and knowing its value is critically important to people. Specifically, young people learning about financial management enables them to grow not only as financially independent individuals but also plan for a better future. Although some people think allowing children to know about money makes them materialistic, to me this is an amazing approach that benefits children in the future. I believe that children will understand the value of credit and use it wisely for their educational purposes at a later age, and financial planning helps children to know the significance of savings for emergency needs.
First of all, children cultivating a habit of controlling their own money gives them an opportunity to make their own budget and allocating funds based on their priorities. This means if children can maintain their money at a young age they will know where the money has to be spent or not. For example, when I was in high school, I remember that my mother gave me an allowance of $40 monthly for my spending. This includes stationary, project materials, or outside dining. If I spend the money on trivial things like movies or buying a CD, then I have to wait till month end to meet my other necessities. This habit really helped me, when I was in college because of spending money with a limited amount of cash I adjusted myself and only bought the most important things. As a result of this behavior, I could meet my expenses in the college with a clear allocation of funds to various purposes. Because of my financial understanding at a young age, I was able to plan my budget and develop as a financially independent person.
Second of all, children learning about money matters at a young age not only makes them financially independent but also helps them to save money for future needs. In particular, we are uncertain about the emergency needs so if children how to save money thereafter they can use the funds during an unexpected crisis. For example, my brother used to squander money and have had none nested eggs for meeting his needs. Recently, he met with an accident and ended up in the hospital bed looking for some help. At that time, I supported him because of my savings, which I kept back when I was working. Had I not learned financial matters at an earlier age, I would not have money to support my brother. Therefore, learning about cash flow helps people to save some money to meet emergency needs.
In essence, I completely agree that to become responsible citizens, children must learn to maintain their own money at a young age because it helps them to plan their budget and save money for meeting unexpected emergencies.

Jan. 20th, 2021 The curfew
Quebec started curfew from January 9 because of the COVED 19. People are not allowed to go out from 8 pm to 5 am.
I think I'm lucky because I don't live in Quebec. And, I realized that my parents didn’t give me a curfew when I was child. They have never told me when I have to go back home. I could go out anytime. They would go out to find me if they found that I didn’t be in home. Especially at the diner time, you know, when they finally finished the cooking. I lived in a quite close neighborhood. All the children played around that area. We were in a same school. Parents knew each other. Many of them worked together. It was safe.
But I had a curfew when I was in the university. All students lived in dorms that was provided by university at that time. The gates of the buildings closed, and the power of rooms shut down from 11 pm to 7 am every day.
I haven’t thought about giving my son a curfew yet, and probably I will haven’t the chance to do it. The problem is that he always just wants to stay home. What I do every day is to convince him to go out, but it is really hard. The world really changed.

J'ai été très occupé...
J'ai été très occupé ces dix jours, voilà pour quoi je n'ai rien écrit. À cote de mes études, j'ai un travail à temps partiel qui me demande beaucoup de temps. J'ai accepté ce travail pour gagner un peu d'argent pendant cette pandémie, mais il a été plus difficile que ce que je croyais. Bon, c'est plutôt facile en fait, c'est juste qu'il me prend beaucoup de temps. Le travail c'est corriger ou écrire des thèses pour les personnes dans l'université qui ont besoin d'aide. C'est techniquement contre les rules, mais je m'en fiche à vrai dire. Malheureusement pour moi, les personnes que je dois aider ne sont pas si intelligents, et ils font beaucoup d'erreurs. Ça, bien sûr, rend mon travail plus difficile.

Mi carjeta de débito fue robado
Hace dos semanas que descubro un cargo en la historia sobre mi carjeta de débito que no hice mi mismo. Era pequeño, $30, pero lo no hice, entonces estaba nerviosa. Cuando lo descubré, llamé mi banco y cancelé la tarjeta. Después par de días, hablaba con mi mejor amiga sobre que sucedió, ¡y se dio cuenta de ella accidentalmente hubo robado la información de mi tarjeta y compró algo en línea sin saber! Era grasioso, pero deseo que hubiera hablado con mi amiga antes. Como dije, hace dos semanas que este sucedé, y todavía no tengo mi nueva tarjeta.

¿Cuidado con los extraños?
En Estados Unidos, y estoy seguro de que tienen en otras partes del mundo también, es común decirles a los niños "cuidado con los extraños". Sin embargo, ¿es correcto? Vivimos en un mundo que está creciendo cada vez más peligroso.
Se ha vuelto especialmente peligroso por los niños. Con el crecimiento del Internet, ahora es súper fácil por los aprovechados, ladrones y otros criminales alcanzarles. Yo apoyo a más maneras de seguridad para proteger a los niños en línea. Pero, ¿es lo mismo en el mundo real?
Aunque hay muchos peligros en línea, el mundo real aún tiene muchas amenazas. Secuestros, asesinatos y robos todos son ejemplos extremos de ellas. Sin embargo, todos nosotros, incluso los niños, tenemos que interactuar con los desconocidos todo el tiempo. Es más importante que les enseñemos cómo hacerlo con cuidado. Siempre habrá amenazas y peligros, no los podemos controlar. Podemos, empero, entrenarles a nuestros hijos para que se puedan encargar de (casi) cada tipo de situación.
Aunque en Estados Unidos, tenemos una mentalidad de súper-protección, sé que no es verdad de otros países. Espero que encontremos una manera de equilibrar la seguridad de nuestros hijos y dándoles experiencias en el mundo real.

The Destiny
COVID-19 is not something special or unique, but an ordinary virus. For some reason, we've been focusing on the virus and have been making a fuss about it. In 2018, including a winter season, the number of influenza 's victims in Japan was around 3,500, and the immediate cause of death the influenza virus. To date, there have been approximately 3500 deaths due to the coronavirus in two winter seasons. In fact, that figure includes not only the immediate cause of death due to a coronavirus, but also the death of a chronic disease caused by corona virus.
Given that we add the number of relative death causes of chronic disease such as a hypertension and a diabetes, etc. caused by Influenza to the number of the immediate cause of death caused by influenza, the total number of the deaths caused by Influenza in Japan should be more than ten thousand people for a season in general. We have been wrapped in a lie and ignorance. We have to be more careful about this kind of statistics. I'm sure that even the prime minister of Japan, Suga is sure to know this fact.
In fact, he is the only one who can explain and persuade Japanese citizens in an objective manner. However, I think he's always made a speech based on illogical thinking or on playing party politics. Or he's a just fool or ignorant. His counter measure about coronavirus was too late and sluggish. There seem to be no close aides beside of him to advise and cannot grab the present situation at all. He seems to be in total confusion.
There is no time for him think it over, he had better act now or he'll miss the bus. This is the only last chance that he has to do, if he can't do now. I am sure that his party will lose at the next election, and cannot but resign at the next election for sure or he might be destined to be fired by the next election will begin.

E-Prüfung
Heute habe ich meine erste Prüfung für Uni geschrieben... durch Zoom. Ich muss verraten, dass ich sehr skeptisch darüber war. Vor allem hasse ich mündliche Prüfungen. Hat es dir nicht passiert, dass du etwas in einer Prüfung vergisst und dann erinnerst du dich darüber fast am Ende? Also das ist nicht möglich, wenn der Lehrer/in dich schaut und eine schnelle Antwort erwarte. Man ist nervös und plötzlich alles ist weg.
Glücklicherweise ist das nicht mir heute passiert. Ich bin sicher, dass ich diese Prüfung bestand. Ich habe jedoch etwas sehr Komisches erlebt. Meine Kamera war in Mitte des Gespräches kaputt! Natürlich war das sehr stressig, ich musste mich entschuldigen, und dem Lehrer fragen, ob er mir warten konnte, bis ich die Zoom App in meinem Handy öffnen konnte. Der war Gott sei Dank sehr verständlich und geduldig.

However, this time I remember.
Last month I try to buy a pc joystick from internet.
I ask few questions to the seller s/he answers me almost immediately.
So, I believe I will be making a deal with him/her.
When we set up the meeting point.
He didn’t show up and I stand and waited in a train station for an hour.
If I ask his/her contact number that will never happen.
Tomorrow I will buy the same item again.
This time I must ask the seller’s phone number.

Deutsche Vorlesung!
Zum ersten Mal habe ich heute eine Vorlesung auf Deutsch gehört. Ich musste viele neue Wörter davon nachsehen und verstehen. Der Professor hat sehr eindeutig gesprochen, deshalb könnte ich 80 Prozent der Vorlesung verstehen. Die Vorlesung dauerte zwei Stunden. Sie war länger als ich hatte erwartet.

Gastronomia. Pierwsza część: polski żurek
W tej serii tekstów chcę pisać o kilku obcych potrawach, które spróbowałem. W pierwszej części napiszę o żurku.
W 2012 roku pojechałem ze szkołą do Krakowa. Wtedy niedawno zacząłem uczyć się polskiego, więc byłem podekscytowany, że pojechałem do Polski. Pojechaliśmy wszyscy razem do restauracji, która przygotowała dla nas tradycyjne potrawy. Wtedy spróbowałem żurek. Pamiętam, że żurek był w chlebu, a nie w talerzu. Chleb miał kształt garnka, w którym była zupa. Uważałem to za ciekawe. Były w żurku ziemniaki, jajka (to było dla mnie bardzo dziwne), a może mięso też, ale nie pamiętam dobrze. Nie polubiłem żurku: zupy nie są dla mnie niczym specjalnym. Przestałem go zejść, gdy znalazłem czarną kulkę, która strasznie smakowała. Nie wiem, czy był pieprz, czy inna przyprawa, której nie znam.
Jestem pewien, że polska kuchnia jest smaczna, ale niestety tym razem miałem złe doświadczenie.

I think European museums should return the objects to Africa voluntarily. These pieces were created by Africans and for this reason they are part of their culture and traditions.
Africans lost part of their artistic wealth when colonialists stole them, so the fair would be that these pieces returned to their authentic owners.

Wie es mir heute ging
Es ist schon spät hier und ich bin ziemlich müde, aber bevor ich schlafe kann, soll ich einen Betrag schrieben, um mitzuteilen, wie mein Tag heute lief.
Heute war gut und ich habe viel erledigt. In der Arbeit habe ich an ein paar Projekte gearbeitet, von denen ich bald Ergebnisse zeigen muss.

Rain in the Pacific Northwest
Portland is renowned for its constant rain. So you should always have something handy when you plan to step outside: an umbrella, a raincoat or even a plastic wrapper to keep dry.
For native Portland inhabitants, the rain does not seem to be a problem, it may even seem that they are raring to walk in the rain without any protection. For an outsider the weather may be gruelling however - unless she is from Seattle, which is competing with Portland on which city has the most rain.
