El Viaje Misterioso
Había una vez una nave espacial llamada ISA-24 que se lanzó a explorar el universo desconocido. Su tripulación estaba formada por un grupo de tres audaces y valientes astronautas llamados Pedro, Julieta, y Rodrigo.
Un día, después de un largo viaje por el hiperespacio, la nave se topó con un planeta hermoso y extraño que no estaba en su mapa galáctico. Llamativamente azul con tintes de verde, era una visión maravillosa.
Decidieron acercarse pero pronto, lo que parecía un planeta cordial se tornó en un misterio espeluznante para la tripulación. Notaron que su comunicación con la base de la Tierra estaba bloqueada y sus instrumentos empezaron a fallar.
La nave aterrizó de forma abrupta en un bosque frondoso y al descender, quedaron atónitos ante la belleza del lugar. todo parecía normal salvo un detalle - no se escuchaba ningún sonido. No había ruido de animales, insectos, ni el viento.
Mientras Pedro y Rodrigo llevaban a cabo reparaciones en la nave, Julieta, una talentosa bióloga, se adentró en el misterioso bosque para recolectar muestras.
El silencio era aterrador, como si todos los habitantes del planeta hubieran desaparecido súbitamente. Julieta se sintió desorientada y trató de regresar a la nave, pero no pudo encontrar el camino.
Pedro y Rodrigo, al ver que Julieta no regresaba, intentaron comunicarse con ella a través del intercomunicador, pero solo hubo silencio. Llenos de miedo, decidieron buscarla.
Caminaron durante horas sin signos de Julieta. El silencio los rodeaba mientras recorrían el bosque que parecía volverse cada vez más denso y oscuro. Al final del camino, encontraron el casco de Julieta.
Los dos astronautas, aterrados, volvieron a la nave sin Julieta y despegaron con prisa, escapando del terror del misterioso planeta azul-verde. Mientras se alejaban, observaron una señal en sus instrumentos: un mensaje proveniente del planeta. Era una grabación de la voz de Julieta que decía: "No estoy sola. Aquí hay algo...".
Al llegar a la Tierra, compartieron su espeluznante experiencia y la grabación aterradora. No se volvió a hablar del planeta azul-verde y la ISA-24 fue retirada.
El destino de Julieta y el misterio del planeta quedaron en el olvido, pero en las noches oscuras, si escuchan con atención, los otros astronautas juran oír la voz de Julieta, susurrando desde lejos en el universo.

대학교에 입학한지 벌써 3년 됐다. 시간이 참 이상하네...
사실 난 국어국문학을 공부하려고 했는데, 점수가 0.5점 만 부족해서 한국어과에 입학하지 못했다. 50만점에 49.5점을 받았는데 아직 부족했다. 너무 아쉽지?
한국어과에 못 입학한 후에 실망 보다 열등감을 느끼게 됐다: '난 뭐가 부족할까? 한국어과에 입학한 친구들 만큼 똑똑하지 않을까? 열심히 안 했을까?' 이런 고민이 많았다
당연히 우울했고 답답했다. 영어영문학을 공부하게 됐는 데, 어긋남이라는 감정을 처음으로 느껴봤다...
그런데 포기하지 않았다.아직도 혼자서 한국어를 배우고 있고 열심히 공부하고 있는다. 대학교에서 영어와 이탈리아어 공부하고, 회사에서 영어 선생님으로 일해요. 스트레스 많이 받는 데 한국어를 배우기 나의 소확행이 됐으니 이렇게 소중한 것을 잃지 못한다. 아직도 말하기가 쑥스럽고 발음이 끔찍하는 데 유창하게 말할 수 있기 위해 노력을 하고 있는다...

Can writing help improve my spoken English accuracy?
I started this journey to improve both my written and spoken English.
Recently, I have been thinking about other ways to improve my speaking accuracy, Currently, I'm reading a book and recording myself while reading, but my main focus is on these daily writing exercises, I can just hope that it will improve my spoken English as well, but while I can take my time here, in a face-to-face situation I may not have the luxury of rephrasing myself in the moment.
Aaaand I am not a fast thinker, to be honest, I have difficulties with multitasking or anything that requires quick thinking, which sometimes affects my English accuracy, despite having a lot of experience with talking to others in English. What are your thoughts? Can writing help improve my spoken English accuracy? What else do you recommend I do?

The Elements of Style
I bought a book by William Strunk, called 'The Elements of Style,' to improve my writing skills. It is a very short book; it is only 50 pages long. However, I don't mind it, because I want to read other books as well. I haven't started it yet, but I am interested if anyone read this book here, and if yes, how did you like it? Did you find it helpful for improving your writing skills, and what were your thoughts on the book?

Workplace Honeymoon is over
I have been working at my current company for half a year now. When I started, I was always excited, and couldn't wait to begin the day and work with new technologies. However, after six months my initial excitement has waned.
I am a Junior Software Engineer, but sometimes it feels like people who have been working there almost for a decade have the knowledge and experience of a beginner. And even if I explain to them exactly what to do they still don't seem to grasp it. Weeks, hell, even months pass by, and they continue to ask the same questions with exactly the same issue repeatedly. When I tell them they say that they understand it, but I already know that they don't, it just happened so many times.
One of the most important aspects of my profession is to be experimental and play around a lot (If you f** around, you'll find out). But they just want to know the answer, without any willingness to explore. AND They are supposed to be Senior Engineers. I really don't feel entitled to tell them what to do as a Junior Engineer, and it feels odd to have to explain things to them as if they were beginners.
I really don't know what is happening on their side, I have experienced that when I couldn't do anything, and received no help, and it was a really painful experience, so I don't want to be that person who doesn't give them the help, but I was an entry-level developer at that time, earning a minimal salary, not a senior engineer at a multinational company.
I have created documentation, and example code, told them countless of times, and still no improvement. I waste so much time just to debug their code, create these documentation that they are not going to read, and so on.
I'm struggling to comprehend the dynamics here.
Have you ever encountered a similar situation, and if so, how did you go about improving or managing it?

前は大都市に住みたかったけど、気が変わりました。
大学生の時は大きい都市に住みたかったです。ニューヨークやシカゴなどの都市は一番面白い住むところだと思いました。静かで小さい街で育った僕にとっては、静かほぼ当たり前でした。しかし、もう2年間シカゴに住んでて、その意見が変わりました。もちろん、大都市に住むのが好きか好きじゃないかは人によります。この2年のあと、自分がどんな人か明らかになりました。ノイズやゴミや犯罪などの問題もうたくさんです。世界の大都市色々なので、たぶんシカゴに自分のマイナスがあります。例えば、シカゴ、そしてアメリカ全体に銃の問題があります。
将来は、アメリカを離れたくて、もっと安全で静かな場所に住みたいです。大都市じゃなくてもいいです。僕にとって、訪れた国の中で、北欧国と日本が一番住みやすそうでした。都市の中でも安全な感じしました。あと、静かなところを見つけるのはそんなに難しくなかったです。教育レベルや人々の互いに対する丁寧などは良い印象を残しました。そんな国は退屈だっていう人もいるけど、僕にとっては、平和と規則正しい生活が大事です。

What is your favorite food?
Ex:
I am a food lover and I enjoy most of them, so it is very hard to pick one. But if I have to choose, I prefer shrimp. I can't think of any particular reason why it's so tasty for me; I just love eating dishes with shrimp, and they are one of the most stable components in my daily meal. In fact, I just ate steamed shrimp with lemongrass yesterday and salted and roasted shrimp the day before.
What is your favourite subject at school/university?
Ex:
To be honest, it's hard for me to choose a favorite because I'm not really passionate about any of my subjects. I hate studying. However, if I had to pick, I'd say English is my favorite subject since I find it the most manageable.
What's your favourite weather? (Why?)
"That's an interesting question. Honestly, I've never really thought about it. I guess I prefer cloudy weather with a comfortable temperature, not scorching hot or freezing cold.
What's your favourite TV programme?
Ex:
I don’t watch TV often so it's very hard to pick one. But if I have to choose, I prefer cartoons. When I do watch TV, I mostly tune into channels like Disney and Cartoon.

I love all public holidays because they allow me to get a break from my work, so it's tough to pick one. But if I have to choose, I prefer the national holiday because it gives me the longest break.

I have never really thought about it since I'm not particularly into sports. I mainly watch football matches, so my knowledge is limited to football stars. I would say Messi is my favorite sports star because he is one of the best athletes in this field, and I greatly admire his skills.

I love vegetables and enjoy most of them so it is tough to pick one. But if I have to choose, I prefer cucumbers. I don’t know the exact reason; there is something about their crunchy texture and delicate taste that allures me to eat them all the time.

Facciamo i bagagli, non ho molto tempo da scrivere. Finalmente andiamo in vacanza - Bologna, arriviamo! Non vedo l'ora di rilassarmi e godermi il Paese. Voglio fare tutto ciò che voglio.
Adesso puliamo la casa per rovarla pulita quando torniamo, ma ho preso una pausa.

Wie hatten zu viel spass lätze Woche in mein Geburtstag. Alle meinen freunden waren da und sie haben essen zu teilen gebracht. Wir haben gegessen, musik hören und zuzamen tanzen.
Alles haben auch einen Geschenke für mir gebracht. Meine liebste war eines großes Bild mit alle meine Freunde da. Es war super schön und ich habe ein bisschen geweint! Schade, dass du nicht zu meiner Feier kommen konntest, es war toll!
Wenn konnen wir treffen und trinken etwas zuzamen? Diese woche kann ich nicht, weil ich ein Reise habe, aber nächste woche, vielleicht am Montag kann ich die ganzen tag für dir haben.

Die Paella
Die Paella gilt als eines des nationalen Gerichts Spaniens zusammen mit der Tortilla und dem Gazpacho. Wie üblich ist dieses ganz beliebte Gericht unter den Volksschichten geboren. Die ersten schriftlichen Referenzen gehen auf den XIX. Jahrhundert zurück, obwohl es nicht klar ist, wann die Geburtsstunde stattgefunden hat. Laut der Überlieferung gibt es verschiedene Theorien, die den Ursprung der Paella zu klären versuchen. Einige von denen sind sogar mit der muslimischen Zeit in Spanien verbunden. Andere besagen, dass der Name (“paella”) auf die besondere Pfanne hinweist, indem man das Gericht zubereitet. Als Geburtsort gilt der Süßwassersee “Albufera”, nicht weit von der Stadt Valencia.
Als guter Inbegriff eines Volksgerichts hat die Paella “vieles durgemacht”. Besonders in bezug auf die Zutaten weist dieser Leckerbissen eine klare Entwicklung auf. Allerdings wurde am Anfang zur Zubereitung der Paella fast alles benutzt, was man finden könnte, und mit Reis gemischt. Unter denen zählen auch Schnecken, einheimische Gemüse und nicht zuletzt Bisamratten, was ganz wahrscheinlich heuzutage nicht so ganz appetilich ausieht.
Die allgemeine Verbesserung der Lebensqualität im späteren XIX. Jahrhundert hat auch zur Änderung der Zutaten der Paella geführt. Kaninchen, Hähnchen oder Enten haben Wassermäuse bzw. Ratten abgelöst. Diese Zutaten sowie bestimmte Sorten grüner und weißer Bohnen sind der Kern der sogenannten “Paella Valenciana”. Dazu sollte auch der Safran kommen. Dieses Gewürz gibt dem Reis dessen eigene gelbliche Farbe, die die Paella so eigenartig macht.
Von Valencia aus hat sich dieses Gericht in weitere Regionen verbreitet, besonders an die Mittelmeerküste entlang. Dort wurde Fleisch durch Fisch und Meeresfrüchte ersetzt. Das Ergebnis ist ganz gut, jedoch darf es nicht “Paella Valenciana” heißen. Im Laufe des XX. Jahrhunderts ist das Gerichts in ganzes Spanien populärer geworden. Mit der Ausbreitung sind auch verschiedene Variationen gekommen, einige von denen nicht so gut angesehen, besonders von Leute, die sich mit dieses Gericht gut auskennen.

Comme tout le monde, j'ai grandi en regardant des animés: des films de Hayao Miyazaki, Naruto, Doraemon quand j'étais tout petit, puis beaucoup plus des série connue tels que One piece, Attack on titans, Death note à la fac. Je passais vraiment beaucoup de temps dans ce univers fictif dont je profitais pleinement. Mais quand je suis sorti de l'université, j'ai eu moins de temps et j'ai cherché des séries courts. C'est comme si j'ai découvert le série "Erased".
La série entourre ce personnage appelé Satoru qui est doté d'un pouvoir de rentrer dans le temps pour sauver un accident. Il ne peut pas le faire exprès mais il lui arrive juste après un incident grave s'est déroulé. Comme s'il est responsable de l'ériger. Sa mère est assassinée durant son séjour chez Satoru à Tokoyo. Il est ainsi envoyé dans le temps, à l'époque où il est à l'école primaire, pour sauver pas que sa mère, mais aussi ses camarades de classe.
Je suis vraiment plongé dans le série. Il est de nature d'un polar mais composé une histoire passionante. Il y a d'amour d'une mère, de relation amicale, de la violence familiale et de la sauvetage. Des plans avec de la musique crée des moments inoubliables. C'est quand Satoru et d'une personnage féminin principal vont au montage et se promènent sur le surface géléd d'un lac, se lèvent les têtes à contempler le ciel d'hiver pavé des étoiles. Il y en a un autre vers la fin de la série où Satoru se croise d'une personne qu'il a pensé jamais revoir. Je n'ignore pas que des animés sont connus pour créer ces scènes si chargées d'émotions, que c'est un technique un peu superficiel, mais ils sont merveilleux quand même !
Je finis le série par un sentiment de malaise. La fin contient de changement beaucoup discuté. Le personnage principal se donne à sauver une fille et sombre dans un coma. On assume un histoire d'amour entre eux dissimulé quelque part. Mais il se réveille 15 ans après pour découvrir qu'elle s'est marrier un de ses copains en classe. J'étais navré, comme on est déçu à apprendre un histoire d'amour vraiment bâti échoue. Mais un bout d'un moment, je me suis rendu compte que Satoru franchissait mille dangers pas pour Kayo l'attende mais pour qu'elle mène une vie qu'elle mérite. C'est pourquoi il est hereux de voir le couple se tenir auprès son chevet de l'hôpital. Son vrai l'amour c'est Airi, qui l'a beaucoup aidé quand il est fugué de la police et lui a fait arracher de son sentiment de coupabilité.
Le serié m'a fait réaliser que les dessins animés ont plein de complexité qui me fait penser si je suis vraiment immersé là dedans. Ça me susciter une envie de revoir des films que j'adorais et de faire attention à des prochains films que je regarde.

The Spanish tortilla (2)
The preparation is rather simple. As ingredients you will need oil, potatoes, salt and eggs, being onions optional. The adding or not adding of onion has derived in a very controversial theme. You will need a pan as a kitchen utensil as well. A typical way to cook a Spanish tortilla seems as follows: slice the potatoes (rather thinly), fry the potatoes in olive oil (with onions, if used) until they are soft but not overcooked, drain the pan content and remove the leftover oil, mix the potatoes and onions with the previously whisked eggs and return the mixture to the pan. Cook the tortilla a little bit more until it is done on one side. Afterwards the tortilla has to be turned upside down in order to cook the other side. This is maybe the trickiest part and a dish can be used to perform the operation, so that you can complete the process without doing a mess!
A variant of this Spanish tortilla is the so called “Tortilla de Betanzos” whose name refers to the Galician village of Betanzos. In this case the use of onions should be avoided. The taste relies on the quality of local potatoes and in the very runny eggs. It means the cooking time after mixing the potatoes with the whisked eggs should be kept very low.

Un incident diplomatique
Que signifie l’expression, l’entente cordiale ? Alors, c’est une expression qui évoque un accord et des relations harmonieuses entre deux personnes ou deux pays. Roi Charles III était en France récemment et cette expression a été utilisée beaucoup car les relations entre l’Angleterre et la France sont significatives et amicales.
Il est importante de garder l’entente cordiale entre deux pays. Récemment, j’ai lu une histoire qui a provoqué un incident diplomatique. Le Canada a fait une allégation contre le gouvernement de l’Inde et celui-ci a provoqué un incident diplomatique. Désormais, les relations diplomatiques entre les deux pays sont tendues.
Je sais que vous allez poser la question suivante : cette allégation, il s’agissait de quoi. Tenez bon car je vais vous tout expliquer. Le Canada a accusé l’Inde d’avoir assassiné un separatist sikh qui vivait au Canada. Cet homme a toujours demandé la création d’un État sikh séparé. Évidemment, l’Inde a vigoureusement démenti l’allégation car elle veut absolument protéger sa réputation. En conséquence, un incident diplomatique a été créé.

高校三年生の時、もうすぐ卒業する前のある日。教師職員室からアナウンスを聞いた。内容は私がすぐA先生に会いに行くように放送した。びっくりした私が聞いたとたんにがたがた心配して来た。
これは絶対悪い事があると思うから。すると、直接に職員室へ走った。途中には一体どういうこと原因を予め考えながらどうんな理由で先生に嘘だ。
私の担任教師のM先生もいたから。二人先生は私に聞いた、昨日どうしてクラスメートとバイクに一緒にのったか？クラスメートは彼女だ。
ちなみにちょっと説明して。校則については高校三年生が18歳になっても。バイクの免許を持っても。学校の制服を着てると、バイクに乗るのは絶対禁した。

The Spanish tortilla (1)
Yesterday I had to prepare some food for a picnic. Our friends circle in Germany is very multicultural with people from several countries. In those cases it is very typical that national dishes are prepared. So, I went for a classic of my country: the Spanish omelette or tortilla. In fact, this is THE national dish to me, then I have found it all over Spain in a more homogeneous way than other candidates. For instance, I consider gazpacho and paella more typical in southern Spain, although nowadays it is not unusual to find them in northern regions.
National dishes normally come from working classes and the Spanish tortilla is no different. There are several theories concerning the origin of the dish. The first written mention goes back to the nineteenth century. It is important to avoid confusion: the Spanish omelette is not the same as the one from Mexico and Central America.

Saludos distintos entre culturas
Me he dado cuenta de que la manera de saludar a alguien en España es bastante diferente a lo que hacemos en los EE. UU. En mi país, es habitual saludarse con un abrazo cuando son amigos o familiares, o, en ocasiones, simplemente con un gesto amical a distancia. En situaciones formales o profesionales, la costumbre es saludar con un apretón de manos. Aquí, en España, no me ha tocado saludar de manera formal así que no puedo comentarlo, pero, entre amigos, suelen saludarse con dos besos en la mejilla, y a veces dando un abrazo al mismo tiempo. Me parece que los españoles no tengan miedo de tocarse, como poner su mano sobre el brazo o el hombro de otro, mientras, en cambio, generalmente los estadounidenses mantienen más su distancia después de saludarse. Para mí, ahora estoy acostumbrada al saludo español y generalmente saludo a españoles con dos besos pero creo que cuando conozco a un español por primera vez, vacilan en saludarme así porque no quieren que me sienta incómoda.

Los distintos idiomas en España
¿Sabías que, en España, hablan más que solo el castellano? Claro, la lengua oficial es ello, pero realmente, en ese pequeño país, hay otros idiomas en ciertas provincias. Algunas de las lenguas más habladas, después del español, son el catalán (hablado en Catalunya y las Islas Baleares), el gallego (en la provincia de Galicia), el valenciano (en Valencia) y el vasco (en el País Vasco). Por mi parte, vivo en Catalunya así que tengo más contacto con el catalán y es verdad que, a veces, hay palabras similares al español, pero es inequivocablemente una lengua distinta. Mis lenguas maternas son el francés y el inglés y me ha sorprendido que el catalán se parece mucho más al francés que al español. Cuando leo en catalán, generalmente, puedo entender la idea principal, aunque no comprendo los detalles, pero para conversar con alguien, ¡ni hablar! Me resulta imposible de momento. Si me quedo en Catalunya, me gustaría aprender catalán no solo porque sería muy útil viviendo ahí sino que también me encantaría comparar las diferencias entre el castellano, el catalán y el francés.

Un homenaje a Isabel Allende
Hoy, te voy a contar sobre Isabel Allende, una famosísima autora chilena nacida en la capital, Santiago. Está considerada una de las escritoras más conocidas del país del siglo XX con obras famosas, traducidas por todo el mundo. Este verano, he leído un libro suyo que se llama “Paula”, cuya historia se trata del dolor de la autora mientras su hija estaba en coma. Es una novela llena de emociones, sobre todo su desesperación como madre. Isabel Allende intenta escribir su autobiografía mientras espera que su hija se despierte para que la pueda leer un día. Como lector, podemos sentir su tristeza y su angustia frente a una de las peores situaciones en la que se puede llegar una madre. En el libro, habla directamente a su hija sobre sus experiencias de infancia y adultez, tanto las buenas como las malas. Recomiendo ese libro a cualquier persona que le guste una historia emotiva y real, con un toque de espiritualidad, que está descrita en un lenguaje exquisitamente descriptivo, aunque un poco complejo a veces. Cuando lo leía, sentía que viajaba en el tiempo mirando la vida de la autora, sintiendo sus emociones y viviendo sus experiencias. Es un libro que me marcó y que jamás olvidaré.

Una serie de TV española
¿Te gusta ver series de los años noventa? ¿Quieres mejorar tu español cotidiano? Pues, te recomiendo ver “Aquí no hay quien viva”. Es una serie española que trata de la convivencia entre vecinos de un inmueble. En esta serie, puedes aprender un poco de la vida en España que tal vez sea diferente de la tuya. En realidad, viviendo en España ahora, veo que, aunque es exagerado, los problemas entre vecinos que ocurren en la serie son basados en hechos reales de la cultura. Los vecinos, a menudo, son bastante cotilleos y no les gustan mucho que hagas algo sin pedir permiso. Es una serie graciosa con mucho vocabulario coloquial que, al principio la verdad, me costaba entender... Lo que me gusta más de la serie es que no hay ningún personaje perfecto y por eso, parecen bastante reales o, por lo menos, se puede entender sus acciones y actitudes. Todos tienen sus defectos, pero también sus momentos positivos. Te recomiendo ver esta serie.
