Hair
When I was a little girl, my hair was very long (it reached my hips). I used to cut my hair, just the ends, once a year. When I grew up, I got tired of it, because it was heavy (I have a lot of hair) and it hurt to wear it in a ponytail. I started gradually cutting it more and more. First, up to my waist. Then, up to my chest. Later, a bit below my shoulders. Finally, I got a bob cut (a bit longer than chin length). My family mocks me and says I look like Dora the Explorer. They are just joking, they like my hair like this.
Now, I want to cut my hair even shorter! I want to get a pixie cut, sort of like a "boy hair cut" (I don't think haircuts should have a gender). I know it's going to look terrible on me, but I still want to do it because I think it'll be comfortable. I always tie my hair because it bothers me, so this should fix it. And if I regret it, it'll grow back. Haircuts are not that big of a deal, I don't get why people think it's life altering. Like, yeah, I may not like it for a while, but I'll just have to deal with it until it grows.
If you want to cut your hair a certain way but you don't dare, I encourage you to do it. Life is one and hair grows.

When I just returned home from a training meeting, I heard from my younger sister that my mom was hospitalized because of her cerebral arteriosclerosis. She has had this disease for many years. When she got sick, she could not speak clearly, even could not speak, and her hands were shaking badly. The doctor said that because of her age, there were no good methods to treat the disease. Under the present circumstances, it can only be maintained.

Desayuno
No suelo desayunar, pero creo que debería empezar a hacerlo para tener mas energía durante el día.
Hace unos años, una amiga me animó a desayunar cada mañana. De hecho, ese año ella me ayudó a comer de forma más regular en vez de saltarme una comida o cenar a la medianoche.
Me gustaba prepararme un huevo frito, una tostada con aguacate, y yogur con muesli. Lo tomaba con un té. El acto de preparar algo para comer me ayudó a empezar los días de una manera calmada y me gustaba enfocarme en cocinar y degustar. Además, era más fácil prestar atención en clase sin el estómago gruñendo.
El semestre siguiente, viví en España con una familia anfitriona. Solíamos tomarnos un té y una tostada con mantequilla y mermelada (escribí sobre las mermeladas de mi madre anfitriona en un texto anterior).
Cuando regresé a mi país y empecé mi pasantía, viví con compañeras de piso desordenadas. No importa tantas veces que limpié la cocina, siempre quedaba cochambrosa porque mis compañeras siempre dejaban sus platos y sartenes sucios en el fregadero. No podía cocinar en ese entorno y entonces perdí el hábito de comer desayuno.
Ahora que vivo con mis padres mantenemos una cocina muy limpia. ¿Alguno de vosotros me puede recomendar un desayuno sano, satisfactorio y fácil de hacer?

I didn’t dare fall asleep.
I didn’t dare to fall asleep.
I think the second sentence is correct because of the rules that there is only a verb in one sentence. “Dare” is a verb, “fall asleep” is a phrase verb, so I put a “to” in front of the “fall asleep” changing it to an infinitive. In this sentence, “I” is subject, “didn’t dare” is predicate, and “to fall asleep” is infinitive as object. That is my understanding of the second sentence. I think the first sentence is incorrect because there are two predicate verbs that “didn’t dare” and “fall asleep” in one sentence. This is against the rules of English grammar. English speakers correct the second sentence into the first one. I have checked many grammar resources, but I failed to get the correct answers. So I posted it here hoping somebody could help me out. Thank you guys very much.

Собака?
Может быть, что моя семья заведёт собаку! Я так рада. Мы раньше думали, что было невозможно иметь собаку домой потому что у моей мамы аллергия на всех виды животных. Но сегодня, мы поиграли с собакой наших друзей и моя мама сейчас чувствует себя хорошо. Она очень счастлива.
Однажды я собираюсь заведу служебную собаку. У меня аутизм и собака поможет мне выходить из дома жить самостоятельно. Собаки очень умные животные. Они чуствует, когда человек расстраивает и находит способы помочь. Слжебные собаки даже имеют принести лекарство человеку, если нужно.

Aujourd’hui c’était un jour sympa. Je me réveille à dix heures du matin. Pour mon petit-déjeuner, j’ai mangé des pancakes cuisinés par ma mère. Après, j’ai lu pendant deux heures, et ma mère et moi sommes allés au sentier de randonnée. Il faisait froid, parce que nous habitons au nord des états-unis. Mais c'était un bon sentier. Enfin, nous sommes allées au café pour soupe et café. J’ai bu du café espresso, mais ma mère a bu du café latte.

Los árboles de Navidad
Creo que todos nosotros podemos asentir a que nuestras fiestas lucirán distintas este año. Sin embargo, hay algunas tradiciones que aún se pueden hacer. Opino que una de lo más icónicas de los Estados Unidos es el árbol de Navidad. Realmente, este tradición nos provenía de Alemania, o a menos que sí las velas/los luces. Aunque el uso de los árboles de plástico ha aumentado en los años recientes, todavía muchas families utilizan un árbol natural. Es común que usemos un árbol de hoja perenne, y creo que también se provenía de Alemania. Los decoramos con los adornos y luces, y cuando terminamos, son como pilares de luz y hojas que brilla con todos los adornos, vidrios, fotografías y tal. Aunque en las tiendas a menudo tienen árboles con adornados perfectos y semejantes, el árbol regular es una mezcla de muchos adornados diferentes, y, en mi opinión, muestra la historia de la familia para todos los huéspedes.

Demain, j'ai un jour ferié
Oui, demain j'ai un jour ferié, donc je n'ai pas de cours, et je peux juste me reposer tranquillement. C'est un jour ferié parce qu'on commémore l'anniversaire de l'établissement de notre ville, Quito, qui est aussi la capitale du pays. En fait, l'anniversaire c'est aujourd'hui, mais heureusement il existe une loi qui dit que, si un jour ferié tombe sur le week-end, on aura un jour ferié le lundi ou le vendredi, quel que soit plus proche de la vrai date de la fête. Donc, comme l'anniversaire de l'établissement a tombé en dimanche, on aura un jour ferié le lundi.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
"It is better to go on a trip by oneself than to take a group tour with a guide."
It is critically important that we know how to enjoy our time on trips. No one can deny that either going for a trip by oneself or take a group with a guide has both positive and negative effects. Personally, I agree with the argument that a trip on our own is better. There are two reasons why I feel this way, both of which I explore in the following essay.
To begin with, traveling or going on a trip on your own is more comfortable and enjoyable. My opinion on this matter has been profoundly influenced by my own experience. Last year, I traveled with my family to Istanbul. We arranged everything without anyone's help, we booked the hotels and rented a car to go to the places that we want. It was a very nice and comfortable trip for us, in contrast to our last trip. We went with a group with a guide and that's was a waste of time and we didn't enjoy anything. Because there were a lot of people and each of them needs something to do, therefore we were always in hurry and that's caused us to not enjoy anything.
Furthermore, when we travel or go for a trip by oneself, you can choose the company that you want to enjoy with, My personal experience is a compelling illustration of this. Last semester, there was a school trip for the whole class. I and my best friends didn't like the idea of going with 25 persons. Therefore we skipped their trip and we went the next day to the exact place. We managed our time carefully, and we went to many places that attractive to us. We really enjoyed our time and it was such a great experience.
In light of the above reasons, I strongly believe that it is far better to go on a trip on your own. This is because you can enjoy your time precisely and it is more comfortable in many ways.

Qu’as-tu fait hier ?
Hier, j'avais la gueule de bois parce que je suis allée au pub le nuit avant. Je me suis réveillé à 7 heures mais je ne me suis pas levé avant 9 heures. J'ai pris une très longue douche puis j'ai préparé le petit déjeuner.
L’après-midi, j'ai fait une promenade dans le parc mais j'avais encore la gueule de bois. Je suis rentré chez moi et j'ai fait une sieste. Je ne boirai plus jamais.

Weihnachtsbaum
Gestern hat meine Familie einen Weihnachtsbaum gekauft und dekoriert. Wir haben eine Weihnachtsbaum-Farm besucht, und einen Baum ausgewählt. Es war schwer, einen großen, schönen Baum zu finden. Jedoch haben wir einen guten Baum gefunden! Es ist ein 9-Füße hoch White Pine. Zu Hause haben wir Weihnachtsmusik auf dem Radio gespielt, und wir haben den Baum mit Lichten, Bänder, und Ornamente dekoriert. Es macht Spaß jedes Jahr, alte Ornamente zu sehen und Geschichten zu erzählen. Der Baum sieht jetzt sehr schön aus.

Current status
Hi everyone,
Today I want to talk about my current status but I don't know if it could call it like that. Because it is most about how I feel. This is kind of therapeutic, writing and learning English and also talking a little about me, how I feel, hobbies, work, and any kind of topics that I want.
This week it was very strange, because I got vacations and I didn't do anything just because the COVID19, it is strange to want to do something and couldn't do it because it have prohibitions. Also it is strange that your work force you to take the vacations when you know you will not do anything, just stay at home and do home activities or went to the supermarket, but not do anything you want to.
This days I felt awkward, I don't know why, but I felt like that. This season of holidays will be wear with just a few people at home, imagine the old days where the whole family get together and do a real holidays.
But I think im not the only one that it feel like this. So I hope in this letter or message or what ever it calls I won't get many mistakes like the first one.

Contester une facture.

Le 3 mars 2015, je vous ai demandé d’établir un devis pour la pose fenêtre PVC de mes bureaux. Le référence de la livraison est 87650, et vous j’avons envoyé une facture le 12 avril pour un montant de 976 euros, TTC. Cependant, après j’ai reçu cette facture je remarque maintenant que cette est une facture erronée, parce que le total TTC est 1056 euros, qui est un montant 132 euros plus que votre devis. C’est parce que le prix unit sur la facture que vous j'avez envoyé était 320 euros, quand le prix correct était 280 euros. Je vous requête d’envoyer-moi la facture rectificative qui est égal à le devis. Je vous remercie par avance pour votre réponse.

I'm currently reading "The mustache", a novel written by the french writer Emmanuel Carrère. The book tells the story of a man who shaves his mustache after having used it all his life to meet the unforeseen situation that neither his wife, or his friends, nor his co-workers noticed any difference and act as if he had never had shaved, or worse yet, as if he never really had a mustache.

Kopfschmerzen immer am Wochenende
Aber ja doch. Es ist Wochenende, deshalb Kopfschmerzen! Da ich Stress während der Woche scheinbar ignorieren kann, neigt mein Gehirn dazu, am Wochenende zurückzuschlagen. 'Nimm das, Schwächling!', sagt mir das Gehirn. Also nehme ich eine Tablette und abwarte. Ich suche überhaupt nicht nach Mitleid. Ich warte eher darauf, wieder an die Arbeit anzufangen.

Adornos de Navidad
Ayer, mi familia decoraron el árbol de Navidad y colgaron adornos alrededor de la casa. Comenzamos a las cinco y terminamos a las diez. Decoramos el árbol con muchos adornos diferentes, bonitos, y especiales. Mientras estábamos decorando, escuchábamos música navideña y bebimos la sidra de manzana. También, decoramos la mesa del comedor con un mantel festivo y los agitadores de sal y azúcar. ¡Teníamos las formas de Papá Noel! Estan lindos. Fue muy divertido. Me encantan las fiestas.

Usually, I have a Chinese class for a girl at 10 am on Sunday morning. It’s a online class. But today the girl called me at 10:05 when I was waiting for her on Zoom. She told me that she just woke up because she had a party last night and she slept very very late. She asked me if the class can start later or cancel. I heard that her voice was unclear. She absolutely didn’t really wake up yet. I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to wait her for I don’t know how much time and probably she will still be sleepy in the class. I thought the best is to cancel the class.

Meine Gedanken, Sonntag der 6. Dez.
Heute habe ich angefangen, ein Puzzle zu lösen. Es enthält circa 2.000 Stücke und es ist ein Meter lang und 66 Centimeter tief. Das hat eine kleine Menge von meiner Zeit verbracht, aber ich weiß, dass ich noch studieren soll. Trotzdem suche ich zusätzliche Hobbys zu lernen oder Tätigkeiten zu tun. Sogar Hausarbeit habe ich schon erledigen, wie die Küche zu reinigen und aufzuräumen. Heute habe ich auch mit Französisch noch mal angefangen. Es ist ein bisschen frustrierend, alles noch mal überhaupt nicht zu verstehen.

Sprachreisen
Frank Harris, ein berühmter Schriftsteller, hat gesagt: Jede neue Sprache ist wie ein offenes Fenster, das einen neuen Ausblick auf die Welt eröffnet und die Lebensauffassung weitet. Sprachreise ist eine ideale Möglichkeit, Fremdsprachenkenntnisse zu verbessern und zu perfektionieren. Eine Sprachreise ist ein zeitlich befristeter Auslandsaufenthalt, bei dem Sprachkurse im Gastland besucht werden. Es gibt für unterschiedliche Zielgruppe mehrere Angebote: Schülersprachreisen, Sprachreisen für Studierende, Berufstätige oder Senioren. Es gibt sowohl Sprachreisen für Einzelpersonen, als auch Gruppenangebote. Die behaupte Ziel, warum man an eine Sprachreise teilnehmen möchte, ist die Verbesserung den Fremdsprachenkenntnissen. Sprachreisen tragen dazu bei, Fremdsprachen zu erwerben oder zu vertiefen. Außerdem können entscheidende interkulturelle Erfahrungen gesammelt werden. Ein weiterer Vorteil liegt darin, dass man in diesem Prozess an Selbstbewusstsein, Selbstständigkeit, Offenheit und natürlich internationale Freundschaft dazu gewinnen wird. Man kann sich auf eine neue Kultur einlassen und Menschen aus einer unterschiedlichen Kultur kennenlernen.
Obwohl es viele Vorteile mit sich bringen, darf man die Nachteile nicht übersehen. Vor allem ist die Kosten. Eine Sprachreise kostet in der Regel mehr Geld als eine übliche Reise. Die meiste Sprachreisen müssen überwiegend selbst finanziert werden. Es gibt auch Programme, die finanzielle Förderungen und Stipendium vergeben. Darüber Hinaus ist das Gefühl der Einsamkeit, weil man lange Zeit in einem ungewohnten Umfeld lebt und von seine Familien und Freunden getrennt.
Jetzt möchte ich eine Alternative von Sprachreisen genauer beschreiben: Sprachreise für die Berufstätige. Fundiert Kenntnisse einer oder mehrerer Fremdsprache sowie interkulturelle Kompetenz gehören heute zu den Schlüsselqualifikation von den Führungskräften in einem internationalen Unternehmen. Viele Firmen bieten an Berufstätige angepasste Programm an, die teilweise oder vollständig von der Firma finanziert werden. Daher muss man nicht um die Kosten der Sprachreisen sorgen. Die meisten Sprachreisen ermöglichen es dem Teilnehmen, auch Alltag, Kultur und Land kennenzulernen und den Lernerfolg durch praktische Verwendung zu maximieren. Wer sich zusätzlich sozial engagieren möchte, kann eine Sprachreise mit der Arbeit in einem sozialen Projekt kombinieren.
Abschließend möchte ich sagen, dass die Vorteile von einer Sprachreisen die Nachteile bei Weitem überwiegt. Es lohnt sich unbedingt, die unvergessliche Erfahrung im Ausland zu sammeln.

I changed my English learning strategy (need advice!
My English level is at about C1 level. I took the TOEFL test and got 95 points one year ago. However, after one year of practice on the TOEFL test and tried 4 times, I have no improvement in my score. I realize that I need to change my learning strategy and here is my plan.
First, I need a large English input. Based on Krashen's input theory, large Input is necessary for language learning to take place. So I plan to read books in a variety of fields every day.
Second, I will have more actual English conversations with native speakers. I have been live abroad for half a year, talking to native speakers every day. After that, my English speaking has a lot of improvement. I was convinced that conversation could really help in language learning. So, my plan is to find a tutor on italki. But I doubt the effectiveness of one or two hours a week of tutoring. It seems like 1/hr per week is not enough for having noticeable growth.
Any suggestion or experience would be appreciated. I really want to improve my English and thanks for your advice and correction.
