Happiness and money
People have different definitions of happiness. For some people, they think that happiness is equal to money. The more money they have, the more happiness they can get. To some extent, I do agree with this view. Since money is the foundation for everything, you need money to lead a high-quality life. For example, if you want to buy some design clothes, you need enough money to cover the price. If you want to improve yourself by learning something new like dancing or some instruments and you want to gain this skill as soon as possible, the most effective way for you is to hire some personal trainers. On top of that, you can travel with this money to broaden your horizon. For some people from rural areas in which living costs are low, they lead a simple life. They never think about something at a ridiculous price, so they are quite satisfied with what they possess and lead a blissful life even without money. For me, I used to squander all my money on clothes and enjoy throwing my money around. But now, I have grown up and I know how hard it is to earn money, so I always target rock-bottom prices now. And I just want to earn a good salary but not to be seriously rich.

Although I prefer to learn freely by newspaper, net materials and so on, rather than extremely boring HSK vocabulary, I almost learned the entire HSK5 vocabulary. In order to see my progress, I just need to turn my eyes to the vocabulary form on the wall. These specific symbols of progress bring me a lot of impetus. What about next year? So far, I don’t know yet.

Because I have lived in China for several years, I have reached the HSK4 level before I knew HSK. I decided to start learning seriously last year, and I even found a tutor from LTL educational company. This year, I hung the HSK5 and 6’s vocabulary form on my wall. With the progress of my learning, I marked the new word with my highlighter. I learned HSK4 vocabulary the same way last year, and I started learning HSK5 and HSK6 together this way since the end of last year and the beginning of this year.

Like many westerners who don’t know LELTS and TOEFL, maybe many Chinese don’t know HSK. HSK is divided into six levels. HSK1 is the most elementary. HSK6 is the highest level, and it is equivalent to the European B2 or C1. HSK only includes listening, reading and writing, but without speaking. Another exam is called HSKK for testing students’ oral Chinese, but universities or companies usually don’t require HSKK certificate, so people rarely take this exam. Thus, students who have passed the HSK6 don’t necessarily speak Chinese fluently. However, from my experience, most HSK examinees also attach great importance to spoken Chinese.

Déménager à New York
Après la fin du covid, je veux habiter à New York. En fête, j’y veux habiter depuis longtemps, mais j’en avais beaucoup peur. On dit toujours que New York est une ville chère, les gens sont impolis et les appartements petits. Ces raisons m’ont découragé à m’y installer.
Cependant, le covid a tout changé. Pendant le confinement, j’ai décidé que la vie est courte, et il n’y a pas beaucoup de temps pour avoir peur. Cette peur est particulièrement irrationnelle parce que j’ai déjà vécu dans une autre ville aussi chère, Paris. Tous les défis du New York j’ai déjà vécu à Paris. Les gens sont impolis*, les appartements petits, et toutes les choses chères.
J’ai survécu à Paris, donc je peux survivre à New York.
*En fête, les parisiens m’ont semblé polis si tu les connaissais. Mais tout le monde dit qu’ils sont impolis et froids.

Rain Check
I've learned a phrase: I'll take a rain check. It means "I want to refuse your invitation", but at first I couldn't understand the meaning because I didn't know what a raincheck is. I think this phrase is indirect, so it seems like Japanese refusal phrases. When it comes to Japanese, it's uncommon to say "No" directly when you refuse something, and people use indirect expressions. Sometimes it occurs miss communication.

Een uitgestelde dagreis
Vandaag waren we van plan om naar Santa Barbara en Stavanger als familie te gaan. Stavanger is een klein dorpje in Zuid Californie dat als een Deens dorpje is gebouwd, met een molen en allerlei bakkerijen en Deens-achtige restaurantjes. Veel van de plekken zijn gesloten nu vanwege corona, dus de plan was eigenlijk om veel pittoreske stoppen te doen onderweg naar Stavanger. Santa Barbara is zo’n pittoreske stad met veel uitzichtpunten en genoeg tentjes om koffie-to-go en ook wat tacos mee te nemen.
Helaas, moesten we vandaag onze reis uitstellen want mijn moeder had last van haar maag. Zij heeft veel en verschillende aandoeningen, maar is vooral sterk. Dus, als ze echt over iets klaagt dan is het ernstig. Gelukkig nog, herstelde ze over 6 of zo uren en is nu zo krachtig als normaal.
Dankzij corona is het eigenlijk geen probleem om reisplannen uit te stellen. Er staan geen vaste plannen, de meeste tenten zijn in ieder geval gesloten, en er zijn geen evenementen. Dus we gaan morgen dezelfde reis proberen te doen.

I attend class from 2 to 3 pm, and then teach martial arts for an hour. At that time, the aunt left, so I looked after the little baby. We usually play in a garden. She likes making castles with mud, picking flowers, playing little cars and following insects to see what they are doing. I make dinner around 5 pm, and cut dishes and boil them in an electric high pressure pot. The child’s mom returns home at 5:30 pm. We drink tea together, talk about things that happened that day and then eat dinner together. It feels very warm. 关于HSK考试和我目前的HSK水平
跟很多西方人不知道IELTS和TOEFL是什么相似，中国老百姓说不定不知道中国大陆外教汉语的标准考试，就称《汉语水平考试》（HSK）。HSK分成6个水平称HSK1（最初级）至HSK6（最高级），HSK6相当于欧洲的B2或者C1。HSK考试内容只包括听力、阅读和写作，没有口语的部分。另外一个考试，所谓的“HSKK”，测试学生的口语水平，可是大学和公司通常不需要HSKK的资格，所以比较少的人参加HSKK的考试。因此已及格HSK6这最高水平的考试的学生未必会用中文交流得流利。然而据我亲身的经历，大多数关注HSK考试的学生也重视口语。
因为我住在中国好几年，所以我意识到HSK的存在以前，我已经学到HSK4初步的水平。去年我决定更认真地学习，甚至向LTL Mandarin这家教育公司寻找到一位私人老师。整今年在我的墙上挂着HSK5和HSK6的词汇表。随着我学习的进步，我把支荧光笔标出学会的生词。去年同样地学完了所以HSK4的词汇，而去年末、今年初我这样开始一齐学习HSK5和HSK6的内容。
尽管我宁愿更自由地学习而看报纸、网络等材料，而不愿针对HSK超级无聊的词汇，今年我却差点学完所有HSK5的词，以及学会一部分HSK6的词。为了看到我进步的标志，我只需要轻易地转头朝我挂在墙上的词汇表，这样具体的进步标志带来了不少动力。明年呢？现在我不知道。

I usually get up at six am, and then, boil water, brush my teeth, wash my face, and za-zen. After za-zen, I change clothes, and pour the plain boiled water into a vacuum cup, and then, drink water while attending class. After the class, I go to the gym and lift a barbell. People in the gym are friendly and greet each other every day. And talk about the workout plans for that day. Afterwards, I go home and buy bread for my aunt by the way or buy discount vegetables for myself. When I return home, I pour a cup of plain boiled water and attend a class until 1 pm. And then, eat, play with my little niece and take a break.

Les jeunes du Bagdad doivent un skatepark
J’ai lu cet article dans Vice.com sur les jeunes dans la scène skate à Baghdad. Dans l’article, on dit que les jeunes n’ont pas de skatepark comme des jeunes en France ou en Allemagne.
Je pense que le gouvernement Irakienne doit installer un skatepark pour eux. J’y crois pour deux raisons. La premíere est la santé mentale, et la deuxième est pour éviter des utilisations des autres lieux non-désignées.
La vie à Bagdad est difficile. L'Irak est en guerre avec L’Etat Islamique, et il y a des centaines de checkpoints sur la ville qui arrêtent des mouvements. Les jeunes ont vu des centaines des jeunes, du même âge, tués par des soldats du gouvernement Irakienne pendant une contestation sociale. Un skatepark est une échappée nécessaire, qui leur permet d'oublier la guerre et d'essayer d’avoir une vie normale. Aussi, la communauté du skatepark les aide avec d’épreuves de la vie quotidienne en Irak.
Le deuxième point est que si la ville n’assure pas un skatepark, les jeunes continuent faire du skate dans les fontaines et les parcs dans la ville. J’imagine que les citoyennes du Bagdad préfèrent que les jeunes s’installent dans un skatepark, en lieu d’un parc.
Dans le même article, Haider, un jeune irakienne a dit que le ministre du gouvernement avait promis un skatepark pour eux. J’espère qu’il fait ça, pour améliorer la santé mentale des jeunes et l’expérience des autres parcs de la ville.

Piano y chelo
Una de mis metas para el año que viene es volver a tocar el piano. Empecé a tocar el piano cuando tuve tres o cuatro años y aprendí rápidamente. Mi profesora y mis padres me obligaron a participar en competiciones. No obstante, odiaba practicar y los recitales me hicieron nerviosa.
El verano después del quinto año de la escuela primaria, mi hermana y yo nos inscribimos en un curso de tres semanas de orquesta de jóvenes. Quería aprender a tocar el chelo y mi hermana quería aprender la viola. Nos encantó tocar instrumentos en grupo tanto que mi madre me ofreció que podía dejar de practicar el piano si empecé a tomar lecciones de chelo, y seguí con el chelo hasta que me gradué del colegio.
En el tercer año del colegio, tomé una clase sobre la historia de música. Esta clase requería que también tomase la clase de orquesta, coro, banda o piano. Decidí tomar la clase de piano porque mi nivel de chelo fue superior de la de la orquesta de mi escuela. En esta clase, aprendí a tocar canciones del oído y tocarlas solo leyendo los acordes. También empecé a componer melodías cortas.
Tomé lecciones de nuevo en el tercer año de la universidad pero no dedicaba mucho tiempo a practicar. Espero practicar con más disciplina si decido empezar de nuevo.

Aujourd'hui, je me suis fait un examen des yeux
J'ai toujours eu une mauvaise vue. Il m'a fallu utiliser des lunettes depuis que j'étais enfant. Lorsque j'étais lycéen, j'étais gêne dû à ça, parce que je croyais que j'avais l'air d'un "nerd". C'était pire encore parce qu'il me fallait des appareils dentaires et j'étais un bon étudiant... Maintenant, je suis plus sûr de moi-même et utiliser des lunettes ne me derange plus. Mais mes lunettes sont très vielles, donc j'ai eu besoin de m'en faire des nouvelles. Je me suis fait un examen des yeux, et il semble que ma vue a amélioré dans mon œil droit, mais elle a empiré dans mon œil gauche. Bref, mes nouvelles lunettes vont arriver le lundi ou le mardi.

최근에, 나는 Penpal한테 편지를 썼어. 우리는 다 한국어를 배우. "한국어 다음에 너는 언어를 뭐 더 공부할래?" 나는 몰었어. Penpal씨는 프랑스어랑 러시아어를 공부 할래. 초등학교에 나도 프랑스어를 공부했어. 그런데 새 초등학교에 전학핬어서 나는 프랑스어를 다 앚었어!! 아무도 프랑스어를 학교에서 안 말했어. (학교는 프랑스어 immersion이 없었어. 프랑스어 immersion는 프랑스어로만 학교에서 말하는 것 이야.) 한국어 다음어 나는 크로아티아어랑 일본어를 공부할래. 나는 실은 크로아티아어를 아직 배우. 크로아티아말 많이 알서 크로아티아랑 한국어를 공부할 수 있어. 일본어도 4년 공부해했어. 지금 일본어하고 한국어를 조금 어렵운 공부하는 것 이야. 문법 때문에 일본어하고 한국어를 비슷해. 그래서 나는 한국어를 더 공부하고 일본어를 배우는 것을 계속 할 거예요.
