隋朝的灭亡

隋朝的灭亡
隋朝的第二个皇帝，隋炀帝，是隋朝最后一个皇帝。他在位期间继续发展他父亲的成就，其中营建东都洛阳，开凿大运河，修筑长城，等等。这一系列重大工程对后世有深远影响，可是反而导致了隋炀帝自己的倒台。
炀帝为了营建一系列重大工程要每年征发大批的劳动力，所以没有足够的农民为人民生产粮食。炀帝另外他还发动战争，为此他还迫使大量农民服兵役。耗费越来越多的人力和财力，致使民不聊生，社会矛盾激化。使人民忍无可忍，终于导致农民起义。
隋炀帝三次征辽东时，他被打败了，很多士兵死了，就这样隋军被削弱。起义蔓延到全国，在各地形成了许多反隋的队伍。炀帝的军队太弱了，无法抵抗，最终瓦解。
盛极一时的隋朝随之灭亡，但它的成就永存。

Learning English

I recently started studying English again, because I want to work in America in the future. I have a vague longing for America.
I was born in America, but I came to Japan with my family when I was one year old. Because I grew up in Japan and also my parents are Japanese, I don't speak English. Recently I started thinking I wanted to work in the country where I was born.
I went on a trip to America four years ago. I was deeply impressed by the grandness of everything of America. The grand, the architectures, the foods...and so on everything was big. I wanted to know more about American culture.
I'm going to study English hard in order to work in America in the future.

除了Twitter，我現在一個社交媒體帳戶都沒有。我在Twitter上有個私人帳戶，主要用來吃瓜。除了跟網友聊天，我還跟隨了很多畫家。我一看到人家的創作就感到鼓舞，想繼續努力畫圖。有些人喜歡在Twitter上找陌生人吵架，但我認為這樣的行為無聊極了。他們根本沒興趣與對方討論，只想證明自己是對的，那麼浪費時間的事，我真的做不出。

Deceiving Appearences

The objects looks different when being seen from far away. The reality deceive us. Grasping all its nuances is an impossible task. The best minds have tried to achieve it, or to explain why the very attempt is naive.

I'm looking at a mountain I just hiked. From here it looks beutiful. The grass seems to be at a perfect height. There are cows walking through it calmly.

Before, when I was on the grass of the mountain, I realized I wasn't as perfect as it looked. It was extremely high, and the mountain's inclination was so steep that I should help myself with my hands.

病気になった猫

私はパイという猫がいます。パイは優しくて、知らない人がくると会いたがります。でも数ヶ月前には病気になりました。食欲が消えていって、ずっと一人で寝ていたんです。みんなは心配してたから獣医に連れていきました。それで、獣医は食欲を治すために薬をくれました。それから1、2か月が経っていました。パイはまだ痩せているんだけど、性格が元に戻ってきました。もっと食べているから太るはずだと思います。

Reseña de libro: "Fruta amarga" (parte 1)

Hace poco leí un libro llamado "Fruta amarga". Escrito por dos periodistas norteamericanos, se trata de la intervención norteamericana en Guatemala en 1954. Leí la version traducida al español, y fue un reto leer a veces pero manejé a terminarlo. La libro empieza con contexto sobre Guatemala, su historia, su pueblo y su política. Luego, describe la historia de "United Fruit Company", una empresa de frutas que empeció en los Estados Unidos (el central estaba en Boston), y hacía negocios en unos países latinoamericanos, incluso a Guatemala. Los trabajadores de la empresa fueron abusados y sus sueldos fueron muy pocos. Además, la empresa poseía mucha tierra cultivable en Guatemala pero solo utilizaba una fracción de ella. En los últimos años de los cuarenta, y después de muchos años de instabilidad política, incluso a dictadura y masacres contra el pueblo, un militar llamado Jacobo Arbenz se apoderó en una elección. Arbenz fue un reformista, no un revolucionario, pero tenía el respaldo de muchos sectores de la sociedad guatemalteca, y los partidos de la izquierda también lo apoyaban. Él empeció a tomar medidas hacia reforma, incluso a un ley de reforma agraria que permitía la expropriation (con compensación en acuerdo con los valores declarados por las empresas en documentos para impuestos). Esta medida fue muy popular porqué el país fue muy pobre y desigual, y los dueños extranjeros de la tierra no eran nada salvo parasitos. Pero la medida enojé a las empresas grandes, como United Fruit Company, y captó la atención del gobierno de los Estados Unidos, que veía en la reforma una semilla peligrosa de resistencia que podía sembrarse en otros países pobres. El Castillo Ambulante de Howl 1

Recientemente, vi una película de Hayao Miyazaki, "El Castillo Ambulante de Howl" ("Howl's Moving Castle" in English). La película es basada en una novela inglesa de fantasía, y está ambientada en un país fantástico europeo del siglo 19. En este mundo, había magia y magos y brujas (tengo una pregunta: hay una diferencia entre maga y bruja?). La protagonista no es una bruja; es una chica "normal" que se llama Sophie, y trabajaba cómo sombrerera. Un día, ella se encontró a Howl, un mago. Howl la rescaté de unos soldados que estaban acosándola y la ayudé en huir. Poco tiempo después, Sophie fue visitada por la Bruja Calamidad, una maga muy poderosa y una ex-novia de Howl. Ella tenía celos de Sophie porque Howl le presté atención. Para castigar Sophie, la Bruja Calamidad le echó una maldición, transformando a la joven Sophie en una vieja con pelo blanco. Sophie estaba muy desconcertada, y salió de su casa para buscar la Bruja y deshacer la maldición. Así comenzó la aventura de Sophie.

Island

Ich weiß sehr wenig über Island. Ich habe jedoch festgestellt, dass sie die friedlichste Nation der Welt sind, etwas, das mir eine Freundin noch besser erklären muss. Ich weiß aber zwei besondere Dinge über Island. Erste, es ist es das Heimatland von Björk. Anscheinend hat sie dort sehr früh angefangen zu singen, sie war eine Art Radiostar oder so. Später gründete sie eine Punkband und spielte im Ausland und dann solo und so weiter. Das zweite, was ich weiß, ist, dass sie sich in Island sehr um ihre Fische kümmern. Es scheint einmal einen ganzen Krieg um Kabeljau zu tun passierte. Anscheinend wären die Briten in Territorium eingedrungen und so weiter. Island ließ sich von der unheimlichen Royal Navy nicht einschüchtern, sie erweiterten ihr Territorium noch weiter und Großbritannien musste nachgeben. Island scheint ihre Kriege eher diplomatisch zu kämpfen. Ich denke, das ist gut.

la commemoration de la fin de la guerre

Aujourd'hui au Japon on a commemoré la fin de la seconde guerre mondiale. Malgré le caractère de cet évènement, le premier ministre Suga n'a pris aucune parole pour les victimes ayant été attaquées par des troupes japonaises, et je me sens vraiment désolée en tant que japonaise. À mon avis, chacun d'entre nous doit reconnaître ce qu'on a fait pendant la guerre pour ne pas répéter les actes inhumaines, et le Japon ne fait pas d'exception.

Would you move to another country or city to get better paid?

I'm still young and open to all possibilities. I notice that people tend to settle down, take a loan, and build a house. They usually find a job and stick to it even for their whole careers. Taking a loan and building a house is a big decision. If you do that, you'll probably spend the rest of your life in a single place. Life will become routine. Each day will be the same as the previous one. Once that happens, time will seem to run faster.

When you have children, it becomes even more difficult to move to another city or country. Fortunately, I'm still a graduate student who has a career ahead. As of the moment, I'm willing to, or I'd even be glad to move to another country. Gaining new experience is necessary for us to grow. We shouldn't stop learning, and we certainly shouldn't let our lives become routine.

L'animalerie

George est à l’animalerie, cherchant quel type d’animal il voudrait recevoir pour son anniversaire. George a demandé à ses parents s’il pourrait avoir un cheval, mais ses parents ont dit « non » parce que les chevaux sont trop grands.
D’abord, il regarde les chiens et chates. Bébés chiens se s’appellent les chiots. Bébés chates se s’appellent chatons. George les aime bien parce que c’est facile de les soigner et ils peuvent jouer beaucoup, mais ils grandiront. George veut un petit animal.
Puis George voit les animaux qui doivent habiter dans une cage. Il voit des lapins, souris, et des cochons d’Inde. Les souris sont ce que tu appelles plus d’une souris. Il aime ces animaux parce que ils sont petits. Les oiseaux habite dans des cages aussi. George voit un perroquet et un canari. Il les aime tout, mais il ne veut pas nettoyer la cage.
George voit des animaux que habitent dans des aquariums. Les aquariums plein d’eau contiennent des poissons et tortues à l’intérieur d’eux. Il pense à un poisson rouge mais il décide qu’il aime des tortues plus que des poissons rouges. Il y a aussi des aquariums (avec des roches et du sable) qui ont des serpents, araignées et scorpions, mais George en a peur.

思う

最近思った、私は話すときと書くとき「思う」を使いすぎるかもしれない。主に文の終わりで「と思う」を書くことが多いと気づいた。英語の該当する言葉は「I think」で、作家の先生からあまり使わない方がいいと教えられた。例えば、日記を書いたら、読者は書いたことが作家の意見だと理解はずなので、一々「I think」を書くなと言った。でも、この考え方が日本語に一致するかどうか分からない。英語に比べたら日本語は遠回りな表現法を使って、自分の意見を控えめに言うから、「思う」をよく使うのは悪くない説も納得できる。確かに日本語を聞くとき「と思う」がよく使われている。それは悪い癖、それともいい言語の使い方か迷っている。

Cats

When I was having an online English class, there were some loud noise outside. It sounded like several babies were crying. But there is only one infant nearby, so it couldn't be a baby. I soon realised that they were cats in oestrus. Their voices like a knife split the silence in the evening. I felt a little horrible when they kept screming and screaming. I paied attention to my class again and had no idea when they had gone.
They are wildcats because none of my neighbors keep a cat. Cats in town aren't uncomman, because some people raise them to catch mice. Yes, there are many mice in town. The cats never get vaccinated because the towners never have the concept. They only vaccinate the animals that can benefit them, like pigs. And people never sterilize their cats either. Since most cats are free, they will go everywhere. As a result, there are many wildcats who rely on garbage dump.

I think the worst thing which people do for the cats is: some people will eat the cats. Because of a kind of superstitions, they think cat is more nutrient than pork or fish.
There are a lot of superstitions so that is why more and more animals in great danger disappear in this country. I hate this a lot, but I can do nothing which make me helpless. As the technology developing, humans get more and more advantages and have a better life. But most of them never try to get more knowledge scientifically. Their equiments are the newset while their mind is the ancient. It is the sadness of the world.

The End of The War

In Japan, August 15th is the anniversary of the end of World War II, and it has been 76 years since the war ended. People who experienced it are old now; the youngsters prone to regard the war as a part of history or something difficult, being unrelated to us.
In the last years of the war, the military of the Empire of Japan developed and operated inhumane weapons such as Kamikaze. Kamikaze pilots are the almost same age or younger than me at that time. Not to repeat the tragedy, I think I have to learn various things broadly and to participate in democracy.

Los hoteles sin niños

En últimos años cada vez más a menudo podemos encontarse con una idea de "un lugar sin niños". En las ciudades hay restaurantes, cafeterías, y recientemente aparecen, los hoteles sin niños. No se puede decir inequívocamente si es un bueno o malo fenómeno porque tiene aunque los entusiastas como contrarios. Para la parte de los padres les gusta la oportunidad de pasar las vacaciones relajandose y deleitandose sin pensar de los hijos y los problemas caseros. A veces, es el único tiempo a lo largo de un año en que los padres pueden pensar en sí mismos, hacer lo que quieren y para un instante dejar de planificar y desmarcar las cosas en una "to-do"-lista. Sin embargo, por otro lado, el período de vacaciones es también el tiempo en que los niños no van a la escuela o al colegio, los días son más largos y normalmente la gente tiene más energía y motivación. Parece que es un buen momento para pasar más tiempo con su familia, fortalecer las relaciónes y simplemente cultivar el ahora.
