A Shot in the Dark - 48
Part no. 48.
This summary was deliberately written in the present tense (analyse it as if it’s taking place as you read it).
Inspector Steine and journalist Harry Jupiter are now walking along the pier. Jupiter leads the way, heading towards the “ghost train” attraction. To go on an tourist attraction doesn’t suit/fit at all the reason the two are walking around Brighton. They were supposed to go over to the site of a crime scene and search for overlooked details. Being already sick to death of this loathsome, egocentric journalist, Steine makes clear that he won’t go on that “blasted train”. Partly because he is also scared of things like that, but he keeps it to himself. In fact, Steine goes on to say that he and Jupiter should really part ways* now. Despite that, Jupiter effortlessly manages to have his way yet again, his charming, collected manners doing the trick. So here they are taking their seats on the train, the dim carriages making it a bit tricky. Steine, of course, is not thoroughly enthusiastic—to say the least. What happens next might well become in future a lecture on the dangerousness of stupid people when put through extremely stressful situations. What with the graphic and sound effects and the dim light, Steine first sinks into a state of deep confusion—unable to tell apart what’s real and what’s not—and then into a state of fear. He gets so frightened to the point Jupiter has to calm him down. Feeling Jupiter’s hand around him, Steine thinks someone is trying to kidnapp him, or rob him. In his desperate, wild attempt to break away from his attacker’s hold, Steine incidentally knocks Jupiter off the train and into the water (the rail run above the water in some points). Steine doesn’t realise what he’s done. Neither does he later take notice, as he walks back along the pier, of the crowd that has gathered on the shore.
*By “part ways” I merely meant that Steine goes back to the police station and Jupiter continues wandering around Brighton.

Bonjour !
Je suis très fatiguée a ce moment-là. J’espère que je puisse aller en vacances en été. Hier, j’ai acheté des livres ! J’ai étais très heureuse quand j’ai trouvé une très beau et spéciale édition de « Les Frères Karamasow » qui n’était pas très chère. Je toujours acheté des livres second-Hand. À mon avis les livres vielle avec des histoires spéciales est mieux que des nouvelles livres. Aujourd’hui, j’ai lit une article de le château Versailles. Vous connaissez le galerie des batailles? Là, il y a 33 peintures. Mais en Grand Commun en 1871 on le utilisait comme une bureau de poste!

Respondiendo a preguntas
Depende si este largo día de trabajo fue muy productivo o al contrario si fue agotador y desmotivante. Si era un día productivo, me gusta hacer yoga, ir a tormar un café con amigos, correr o hacer deporte al gym porque necesito hacer cosas para dejar de pensar en mi trabajo y disfrutar de mi tiempo libre.
Si el dia fue agotador, entonces prefiero ver películas o series que me gustan o simplemente acostarme para estar de buen humor el día siguiente. (Siempre estoy de muy mal humor cuando estoy cansada.)

Le stress
Parfois on a trop de travail, un dispute avec un copain ou peur de quelque chose. Tous ca nous donne le stress. Ce peut faire mal a la tête ou au ventre. Surtous si on est un élève, aujourd'hui beaucoup des élèves avons le stress. Evidemment ce n'est pas bon pour un person. Alors un conseil quand vous avez beaucoup de stress, essayer de vous donner le temps libre parce que même si vous reussiez votre travail, ce peut casser votre esprit.

Legos
Ich finde Legos eine sehr konstruktive Erfindung. In die deutschsprachigen Länder nennen die Leute: Legosteinen, für mich ist ein komischer Name, da Legos mit echten Steinen nichts zu tun haben. Kinder spielen sehr gerne mit Legos, sowohl Mädchen als auch Jungen. Als Kind habe ich nicht mit Lego gespielt, in meine Kindheit waren Lego hauptsächlich Bubensache, ich bin glücklich, dass heutzutage Mädchen auch mit Legos spielen, um ihre Kreativität auszuleben.
Ich habe in ein Youtubevideo gesehen, dass Lego (die Firma) in die 90-er Jahre stand kurz vor dem Untergang, aber eine innovative Führung hat die Firma aus die Vergessenheit gerettet, indem neue Kollektionen mit Comicfiguren produziert wurden.
Ich merke auch, dass die Eltern seine eigene Lego bewahren, um eine Art Erbe seiner Kinder zu lassen, ich kann mich gut vorstellen, dass zu sehen wie deine eigenen Kinder mit deinen alten Legos spielen ein gutes Gefühl ist.

Which scent do you find the most soothing?
I like the scent of tea like chamomile or earl gray.
When I am stuck on a problem at work, I usually go to a convenience store and get one of those tea.
It really makes me calm and I feel refreshed. Then I can go back to the problem with a clear mind.
So, I find the scent of tea is the most soothing for me.

What David Learns when Looking for a Language Partner
David wants to immerse himself in his target language, so he tries to chat with people on language apps. He thought the serious learners would definitely be the good language partners, but things do not work as he thought. Sometimes some of them keep talking to David in his mother language, and he doesn’t have opportunity to practice his target languages. Sometimes he feels like there is a lack of chemistry between him and those people. Sometimes he meets someone who is fun and willing to help, but a time difference does not help. Eventually, only a few serious learners are good matches with him after he has been looking for language partners for a long time.
He knew if it is not interesting when he learns a language, he will lose motivation very soon. Although he feels frustrated time to time, it is still more fun to communicate with people in his target languages than learning the languages from textbooks independently. He tries to expect less and to appreciate the things he can learn by talking to people no matter how long they can keep in touch with him. That makes David feel much better in his language learning journey.

n的欧拉函数φ(n)表达小于等于n的正整数中与n互质的数目。
快捷1：素数
算计φ(7)吧。因为7是一个素数，小于它的正整数都与它互质。所以φ(7)=6。（不过7不是与自己互质，因为7/7=1）
φ(p)=p-1 这对任何素数p正确的。
快捷2：素数幂
尝试算计φ(49)吧。逐个测试49个数需要时间并且容易出错。可是我们会使用49=7²和7是素数着俩事实，想到如果从1到49的整数与49互质，它是七的倍数。φ(49)=7。
那φ(343)吗？343=7³，所以这里也只是想知道有多少7的倍数。343/7=49，换一种写法：7³ / 7= 7²。相似的，φ(7⁴)=7³，等等。当然这不是7的特殊属性，而是对任何素数正确的。

23 février 2022 - Vivre avec Covid ou Zéro Covid ?
Quand la situation devint incontrolable, et en fait, la mortalité de covid n'est pas si haute quand on a fait vacciner, faut-il re-penser notre moyen de le combattre ? Le gouvernement ici a interdit les citoyens de proposer l'idée de vivre avec Covid. La restriction de "distance social" est renforcée et les masques sont désormais obligatoires même quand on fait des exercises dehors. Je suis étonnante ! La loi est là pour protager la santé de citoyens mais cette nouvelle règlement a fait l'opposé. Tandis que moi, la citoyen n'a pas même une seconde pour l'opposer. Le confinement peut sauver quelques vies, mais ça réprésente aussi une grande perte d'économie. Quand j'ai vu dans les nouvelles que les gens de Canada, de France...... peuvent faire la protestation contre les gouvernements, et l’Australia a déjà ouvert son frontière, cette liberté me manque tellement.

Apps When Traveling
Thanks to many applications, it is easier to travel abroad now.
I usually use Google translator and Google map.
As you may know, the translation app is very important for convenient communication.
When I went to China, I could only say two sentences, "Ni Hao" and "Xie Xie".
At that time, there was no smart phone, so I couldn't enjoy the travel.
The nice map app is useful during trips as well.
When I went to Warsaw in Poland, I could visit beautiful small trails near the old town.
At that time, the map app helped me go there.
Overall, traveling abroad is easier with useful apps.

Holidays in the mountains
Right now I'm working in the mountains, but it really feels like holidays. I'm hired by a family who needs a nanny to take care of their two kids. The thing is, the kids are almost all the time skiing with the parents, and meanwhile I'm in a restaurant drinking coffee and reading. When one of the kids is too tired, they let them with me, but I don't need to entertain the kid because he plays in the snow. In the afternoon we go down to our chalet, I supervise the kids while they shower and let them watch TV, or we play some games. The parents stay in the mountain and maybe have some drinks or go to a fancy dinner. So far, this is the easiest job I had in my whole life, I wish they hired me for more than one week.

一億円もらえたとしたら
いつものように厳しく添削していただけませんか？文法的に合っていても不自然な文であれば遠慮なくどんな風に言えば良かったか教えてください。一文をすべて変えても全然構いません。むしろそうしていただいた方がありがたいです！
今日の日記は何を書けばいいか大分迷ったけど、適当にこないだ聞かれた質問の答えを日本語で書くことにする。その質問は一億円をもらえたとしたら今の生活はどう変わるかって。私の答えはかなり拍子抜けなものなんだけど、私の人生はそう変わらないと思う。そもそも買いたいと思ってるものなどないし、誰かに買ってあげたいものもない。といっても、一億円もらえてもどうでもいいと思って嬉しくない訳もない。ただ、今は使い道があまりないので貯金するしかない。そこで終わりだったら流石に今日の日記はつまらないから、質問をちょっと変えたいと思う。まあ、変えるより条件を付けると言った方が適切かな。もらえる条件は四つある。一つ目、貯金や投資は駄目です。二つ目、誰かに金あげたら一生その人から金もらえない。三つ目、もらった時点から一週間後、使ってないお金がなくなる。四つ目、買ったものは一生売れない。この条件があったら、出した答えは駄目だね。貯金もできないし、一週間以内に使わないとなくなるから早く使わないともったいない。だから最初は車を買うことにするかもしれない。どうせ近未来に買うつもりだったんだし、お金も大分かかるからいいアイディアだと思う。そして私の実家の近くにある家を買いたいかも。長いこと日本で暮らすつもりだけど、いつかアメリカに帰ったらそこに住めるし、それともアメリカに帰らなくても親戚に無料で貸してあげることもできるし絶対にどうにか役に立つ日が来ると思う。五百万円は私の子供の親戚の学費に使うためそれぞれの両親にあげる。後は、インチキな手かもしれないが、残りの金を使って宝くじを買うことにする。宝くじが当たったお金は自由に使えるからね。皆の答えも聞きたいから是非コメントしてください。一億円もらえたら自分の人生はどう変わる？そして、もしあの四つの条件があればその一億円をどんな風に使う？

스마트폰의 기능이 다양해지면서 많은 사람의 인생이 편리해졌다. 이런 점에서 스마트폰에 의존하여 그 없이 살기 어려워질 정도로 필수품이 되었다. 예전에 외출하지만 않으면 하지 못했던 일을 스마트폰의 기능으로 집에서 할 수 있게 되었다. 그러므로 스마트폰 사용이 확산되었고, 손에 놓기 힘들만큼 사용 시간이 급격히 늘어났다. 방송 시청과 음악 감상, 친구와 문자를 주고 받는 다양한 활동을 스마트폰으로 할 수 있게 되었으니 사람의 사용량도 함께 증가했다. 하지만 과도한 사용으로 인해 여러 문제가 발생할 확률이 높다. 예를 들어, 시력이 떨어지고 안경을 맞춰야 할 상황이 일어나거나 잠들기 전에 스마트폰을 확인하는 습관 때문에 시야가 좁아지고 눈 건강에 악영향을 끼칠 수 있다. 덧붙여, 수면 패턴을 망칠 수 있으므로 수면장애가 될 위험성이 있다. 뿐만 아니라 적당하지 않은 스마트폰의 사용으로 중독에 걸려 일상을 보내는 데 방해가 된다. 친구와 만나는 와중에 습관으로 스마트폰을 계속 보거나 이럴 때에는 상대방이 불쾌하기 마련이다. 따라서 스마트폰과 떨어지지 못하기 때문에 인간관계나 건강에 악영향을 미치는 경우가 많다고 볼 수 있다. 해소방법으로 사용 시간을 줄이도록 하는 것을 꼽을 수 있다. 또, 하루에 휴대폰을 얼마나 쓸지 미리 정해놓은 다음에 그 것을 지키도록 노력하는 것도 좋다. 스마트폰의 편리성과 접근성 덕분에 삶이 발달했다는 점을 말할것 없지만 이로 인해 생길 문제를 무시하면 안 된다. 뭐든 적당에 넘으면 좋지 않기 때문에 되도록 자제하는 것이 바람직하다.

At the beginning of the month, I visited Dali, a tourism hit in Yunnan Province, China, to go on holiday.
The sky is so sapphire, and different sizes of clouds float on it. The warm spring air made people languid. Dali has many stories, and it also has a name as ”China's hippie heartland“, cause it was wallet-friendly for the youth who grip On the Road and art dreams. But it's in the past.
The taxi driver said the tourism was battered by lockdown, and it is. hanging around in the grand old town, I found many shops were closed and had "For Rent". Plenty of interesting young vendors also left, and cookie-cutter goods are rampant in the pedestrian street. However, I still have fun here.

022301-The first day to start writing English Diary
Today is my first day on this site, and I was recommended by a Chinese website that seems like Reddit. As a Chinese native speaker, I have kept a habit of writing a Chinese diary for over ten years. Writing is a sanctuary for me in the modern world buzzed with messages. However, I have never tried English dairy before.
Laziness is not the obstruction, but Perfect is. In SpongeBob SquarePants, SpongeBob was asked to write an essay of 800 words, and when he prepared, he said to himself: I want to create a classic work. Little ashamed, but when professors asked me to write in English, I usually have the same idea.
As an Indian proverb learned from my friend, "Kro to acha, an kro to arbhi acha" (if you do, it's good, if you don't do it, it's even better). I read and collect great words, and write no word on my writing paper. No action, no mistake.
But I need to take a step to write because practice makes perfect. And I hope to meet more partners and friends on this platform to learn languages together.

Что такая реальная серьезность ситуации на Украине?
В данный момент СМИ полна заголовков о Украине, но кажется, что простым гражданам почти невозможно понимать насколько серьезна эта ситуация. Несмотря на то, что я часто читаю новостей об этом, я при всем желании не могу разобраться: есть ли какая-то разница от прошлых подобных событий?
Я объясню свое замешательство. Смотря на западная СМИ, у меня такое впечатление, что это будет началом третей мировой войны. Западные новости постоянно состоят из заголовков, которые высказывают мнение, что это российская агрессивность — что-то беспримерное с времени второй мировой войны.
Но рассмотрим недавнюю историю. Вопрос Украины и НАТО совсем не новый. На самом деле, возможно утверждать, что это ситуация даже не удивительна. И насколько я понимаю (я выучил всю эту историю на YouTube -- определенно я не эксперт), Россия уже много лет выражала озабоченности о присутствие западных стран рядом с границами России.
Поэтому самое обычное мнение тех, c кем я лично знаю в Росси — это событие просто та же новость, которую жители Росси слышал слишком много раз. Они вообще не волнуются. К этому моменту, кажется что, они сбились со счету, сколько раз повторял такой цикл вопросов с Украиной.
В заключение, я просто не могу определять, отличает ли это ситуация от других. В итоге мы и смотрим мощность СМИ. В таких вопросах наши точки зрении управляются теми, которые контролируют СМИ. В этом случае, я совсем не уверен, какому источнику новостей я могу доверить. Восток и запад рассказывают всё по-разному. И конечный результат: я, один простой гражданин, буду ждать дальнейшие новости.

Präsident Obamas Lieblingsspeiselokal
In Hyde Park, das ein Stadtteil der Stadt Chicago ist, befindet sich ein besonderes Speiselokal. Dies ist bekannt dafür, dass es Präsident Obamas Lieblingsspeiselokal war, als er an der Universität von Chicago Jura lehrte.
Das Speiselokal heißt "Valois," und das Essen ist typisch amerikanisch. Eier, Würste, Waffel, und so weiter sind auf die Speisekarte zu sehen. Man bestellt an einem Tresen, und die Köche kochen direkt vor dir das Essen.
Diese Woche bin ich mit einem Freund dort hingegangen, und das Essen war so lecker wie ich mich errinern kann.

He vuelto a estudiar alemán
Este otoño pasado me inscribí en clases de alemán. Desde que era adolescente, me ha gustado escuchar rap alemán porque las palabras producen un ritmo muy interesante. Cuando alcancé tener más confianza con mi fluidez en español, me sentí preparada para estudiar otro idioma y me inscribí en una clase de alemán. Había seis estudiantes en la clase y reunimos cada martes durante diez semanas. Me sorprendí que pude aprender tanto en solo tres meses.
Siento que me he olvidado mucho pero creo que recordará el vocabulario y la gramática poco a poco mientras escribo y estudio.
