Nowadays, children spend a fair amount of time watching television. Variety of programs and shows make television a tremendous source of entertainment. However, what advantages and difficulties television can bring to children’s lives? In this essay I will look at both sides of this question.
The main advantage of television is the fact that it can act as an educational platform. From spectacular documentary films on wildlife to fascinating programmes about space, they give rich, emotional impressions to children’s outlook to the world. In many cases, this knowledge can help them to learn better at school and what’s more, can lay the foundation to the interests in children’s future lives.
Now let’s move to possible negative effects. One of the major drawbacks occurs in the situation when parents let their children to watch television too much time. Entertaining programs and shows, colorful cartoons can be highly addictive for children attention, often distracting them from doing their homework, reading books, do sport and other activities. Another serious problem of modern television is its never-ending commercials. Being mentally and emotionally vulnerable, children often start wishing the products enforced to them by the market specialists. As a result, this add compulsiveness to the child’s behaviour, moreover directing him or her to terrorize his parents to buy the products shown in the commercials.
To summarize those points, I will state that modern television can add benefits to children’s lives when it is being used properly, and disadvantages when it is used the wrong way. Watching educational programmes cause children to be more curious and helps to understand the world better, whereas an excessive watching of television can lead to an addictive and uncontrollable behaviour. I believe that parents should pay more attention to their children and protect them from the bad influence of television.

I don't know why, but I don't like coriander. A lot of people tell me it's delicious, but I can't understand its appeal. It smells like a stink bug and feels like grass in my mouth. The only time I'll eat it is if I'm a guest. Luckily it's not common in Japan and easy to avoid.

May I ask you a few questions?
I would like some advice on how to improve my conversation in English.
I want to improve my English pronunciation, so I have been watching phonics videos on YouTube to practice my pronunciation. If you have any recommendations for materials or learning methods, could you please let me know?
Also, when I speak in English, I can't speak immediately what I'm thinking to want to talk about in my head in English. To improve my speaking skills, I've been shadowing and dictating using Youtube and TED videos, but I don't feel like I'm improving. Do you have any recommendations for learning to speak more fluently?

I have a wife, a daughter, parents, grandmother, a brother, and a sister.
I live with my wife and daughter. I don't live with my parents. My parents and siblings live near the same city.
My daughter is small, she is 8 months, so I and my wife play with her toys, and give her food. The rest of the time, I spend it watching TV shows and playing video games with my wife. We especially like to watch quiz shows and answer them.

I have one brother and one sister. Everyone lives near my parents. My sister is a homemaker and she has a baby. She was a kindergarten teacher before she had a baby. My brother works for a shipping company. He has only one day off a week, so he has a busy life.
I see my sister occasionally with each other's children, but I rarely see my brother.

My best friend is one of the guys who joined the company at the same time as me. I've worked with him for a long time, and we both have absolute trust in each other. He's very good at getting to know how the other person feels, so he's well-liked by everyone.
Now he has transferred to another company, but he is still my best friend.

I'm a father of one. My girl is 8 months. My wife is a housewife but when my girl grows up, she will start working for helping cover expenses, she says. We need to save money for our child's education, so we can't spend money on entertainment. But, we try to spend weekends together as much as possible. I would like to work a lot more to help my family. And I hope to live happily together as a family.

For the last 30 days, I have been participating in a 30-day challenge. The core of the task was to work on the languages each one was learning, but also to do something in group which is always more fun and motivating than doing it alone. Today, that the challenge is closing, it’s time to look back and assess what I’ve gained and what areas I need to reinforce. The positives are that I could catch up with my English studies after not having done much in the past 2 years, and to my surprise, I’ve continued to improve in spite of not having worked on my English actively. Another thing that makes me close these 30 days with a smile is knowing that I never took the challenge lightly, quite the contrary, every day I spare some time to write something meaningful to me. In fact, if I had written something quickly just to keep up with the challenge, now I’d be quite dissatisfied with myself.
As for the aspects I need to take more seriously; Punctuation. In this regard, most of the feedback I got had to do with punctuation. Hence, this August I’ll put myself to study what relative, dependant, and independent clauses are. I admit that for many years I’ve proudly refused to even consider studying that aspect of grammar. However, since I’m looking forward to the C1 certificate, I have to make peace with the idea that English in this regard is different from Spanish. For example, in Spanish we have more freedom when writing, punctuation is also more intuitive than regulated. Besides we don’t have anything called “run-on sentences”. That’s why in Spanish one has the freedom to write long sentences, and also to use plenty of adjectives to describe the same thing. In conclusion, I’m the one who has to adapt to English grammar and not the other way round.
I would also like to learn another language, consequently this next 30 days I’ll allocate some minutes of my days to write in French. I have a simple goal: 100-word paragraph daily. Luckily I have engraved in my mind, the first time I wrote a paragraph in English, it took me the whole afternoon. I assume that with French I’ll have to go through the same agony.

The growing climate change is the cost of human progress. In the current decade, the rising-worse climate quality is leading an irreversible result in the global world, for example, the glacier is melting, the green-house is thinning and renewable resources are declining. The unlimited use of free-natural resources is, to say the least, been dangerous than it first starts. But on the plus side, the human's aggression on nature could contribute to the society and economics market thrive.

Currently, air pollution is a big problem around the world. There are many industries that are responsible for air pollution. They only care about making money, but they do not care about finding potential ways that could reduce air pollution. The situation is even worse in developing countries as there are no regulations or standards that could set a limit for CO2 and other greenhouse gasses.
The situation is also worse in China where CO2 emissions are beyond the permissible limit. Before the Coronavirus occurred in China, the Chinese used to wear protective masks to protect themselves from breathing toxins. I remember a friend of mine who was traveling to China with an N95 mask. When I saw her looking for a mask in Hiroshima City, I asked her the reason, and she told me that she was traveling to China and in order to protect herself from air pollution in China, she needed a mask.
Obviously, there are other reasons for air pollution as well such as vehicles. Usually, private cars are one of the reasons for air pollution in developing countries. In developing countries, because public transport is not suitable for passengers in a city, many people prefer to buy a private vehicle. When the economic situation of households improves, they plan to buy a car. I have even seen families with two or three cars. The bad thing about these vehicles is the fact that it has low passenger capacity but high CO2 emission. Therefore, imagine a city where almost every household owns a car or even every member of a family owns a car.

Mikkel denkt. Dann flüstert er: " Es ist egal. Hans war meiner Vater, meiner Papa. Er erzog mir. Ich liebte ihn. Nichts kann das ändern. Mein Plan ist unverändert."
Mutter sagt: Dein echter Vater heißte Wladimir.

Hello,
I'm new here and I will try to write everyday about my day.
First, I'm going to present myself. I'm an engineering from Madrid, Spain. I'm doing this because I would like to improve my English comunication skills. Altough I'm perfectly capable of understand English, my writting skills (and speaking) are not so developed.
About my day today, i dont have much to say, it had been a day like any other. I woke early up to go to work. It had been a very hot week here in Spain, specially in Madrid with maximum temperatures near 40ºC. The good news are that this is my last week of work before going on a 3 three weeks holidays, so I'm happy in this sense. I will talk about my holidays in future diary entries.
That is for today, you will know more about me in the comming days.
Thank you very much and best regards!

I don't really know what I wanna say here, but I just found this website, so I thought it'd be nice to write something and see if my writing is good enough, since I usually don't do this as much as I'd like. I guess I think I'm fluent in english, but sometimes this may not seem so true to me, I mean, once in a while I come across some words and I'm like: what does this mean??? I SHOULD KNOW THAT (this happens A LOT specially with college books/texts)! But hey, this probably happens to everyone, even in my native language (portuguese) I find myself having absolutely NO idea what a word means, so imagine how often this can occur in a language that is not your main one and you have no one to practice with. So I guess this is it, this is just something that was running through my mind, I can't force myself so hard into being perfect when it's absolutely okay not to be.
