Everybody think that in Spain all people make a nap after lunch, every days of year. I live in Catalonia and I don't know nobody who does "la siesta" in weekdays. But is possible that some people in some days on holidays or weekend, they doing. In others spots more hot, where is not possible go out from home during the day in summer while the sun is stronger, traditionally they do this short sleep. The "siesta" should last around thirty minutes to 1 hour. If your nap last longer time, is possible that later at night, you will have problems for shut-eye to sleep.

Dear Ms Li,
Hope you are doing well. My name is Joyce I am Ryan’s mom.
Thank you for giving us a wonderful school tour last time, we were so impressed with Mulgrave’s value and facilities. We are certain that Mulgrave will be a perfect fit for Ryan next year if all goes well.
Summer holiday went by so quickly, Ryan enjoyed going to his daycare everyday and he made a lot a of friends in the school. He also loves going to gymnastics class and soccer class after school. We noticed that he really likes music and dancing, beacuse when we accidentally join the Katie Brock Music session, Ryan was dancing and singing all along with Katie. We took him to Victoria during the holiday and he went fishing for the first time, he was so happy on the boat and saw us fishing, we had a great family time over there.
Regarding the application this year, since Ryan’s birthday is Dec 11th 2019, would you consider him as a PK 3 candidate this year?

I think fashion industry doesn’t bother about problems and illnesses like anorexia or bulimia. It designs very small clothes and it promotes to be very slim, very skinny. People want to be like supermodels and I think it is very dangerous because many people obsess about losing weight so they leave to eat and this is a big problem. Since some years, there are people that are working in change minds about fashion and promote to have models with different bodies on the catwalks. Models with all types of bodies not only slim models. I think it’s good for everybody to see into the fashion industry supermodels with fat bodies and this should be a normal thing.

English has been a universal language for more than several decades and, of course, everyone knows its importance for cross-cultural communication, but there is indeed a smaller percentage of the Chinese population who can speak English than that of the majority of other countries in the world.
In this article, I will explain the reasons behind it, and will give according suggestions for improving overall English speaking skills for individuals in future articles.
All the following opinions are personal thoughts, and I didn't do much research regarding this topic, so any different standpoints and diverse comments are welcomed.
English education is not good enough in China
Although China is a rising country with long history and was an empire in ancient times, it has a relatively more rigid and inappropriate education system which is not suitable for active and interest-oriented learning but strangely helpful for students to get a satisfactory score in order to please their parents and accomplish their teachers’ job.
Why do I call it rigid? You may not know that, in China, even the open-ended questions like those in a Chinese test have a standard answer, again, in Chinese language tests and not even in maths exams, so if students can’t cover the points they will probably get a very low score.
Although I am not criticizing this system nor dare I to, however, let me give you some examples to elaborate on.
I remember when I started to learn English in junior high school, my English teacher was not able to pronounce considerable words in a correct way that I doubt she was not even trained in teaching English but rather like a substitute getting pushed up to this position, and what I don’t like more was her ways to teach words spelling, she literally only asked us to memorize spelling without any tips and then exams for dictation were imposed regularly. The terrible thing didn’t end here, “If anyone spelled words incorrectly, go spell these words dozens of times until you make them right!”, she said sternly.
As we know forcing oneself to memorize words doesn’t work, because English native speakers don’t force themselves to learn new words but, surprisingly, they can understand and use a massive amount of words by natural acquisition.
Another unbalanced trait in English teaching in China is to focus too much on grammar since grammar had been an easily examinable point to test students’ skills, though in recent years by far as I know, Gaokao, a decisive exam for pre-college students has the grammar part removed and added reading part.
English Speaking skills have also been largely neglected because for most students there is practically nowhere to speak English and they fear speaking practice in class only for not losing face if they spoke in a typical Chinese way or made mistakes, so teachers don’t think any value is in teaching oral English. I didn’t even practice speaking until several years ago when I thought speaking is primary for learning a new language and I had taken this ability underestimated before senior high.
It’s obvious that these abnormal teaching methods, pro-grammar tests, and speaking-neglected classes have reinforced this ideology – we learn English only for getting a higher score. Thus, students are less well-educated in English and soon lost interest after leaving school.
Society is not supportive of English learning
China is not an inclusive immigrant country, where most foreigners can travel to without a visa, so therefore there are fewer foreigners in China except that big cities hold more of them. Due to its comparatively low demand for speaking English with foreigners, only a small amount of people can speak English fluently, and those people tend to live in big cities. If you decide to have a trip to China, you’d better learn some basic Chinese beforehand as my number-one suggestion.
Based on historical recordings, China didn’t open her door to the outside of the world until 1978. This solitary country attracted no outlanders so there was even less chance to use English for doing international business and cooperation, though it is said that schools did teach English even before that time. The relatively late time to connect with the world made Chinese citizens think English barely has any practical use and it slowed down English education.
Another thing worth mentioning though it sounds a little stupid is some Chinese people start to diminish the importance of English as a subject as they point out that the majority of students won’t use English for their future jobs. Not long before, there were strong voices advocating pro-Chinese and anti-English online and, under this pressure, the government may consider reducing the full score of English in Gaokao.
Language difference is relatively bigger
As Chinese learners complain that Chinese is too hard to learn, Chinese is truly so much so different from western languages. When Chinese belongs to the Sino-Tibetan family and English belongs to the Indo-European family, fewer language similarities between these two may cause Chinese speakers to have more difficulties to learn English.
Chinese tend to cut out the subject in a sentence, if not so only when the meaning can be misunderstood, but in English I feel like there are fewer ellipses used commonly. Chinese is a tonal language while English has stressed parts in certain words and among a sentence. However, the overall intonation of a sentence in Chinese is more flat, which probably brings Chinese English learners a less emotional or even numb tone when speaking English. Moreover, when a question is being asked in English, be it an open question or yes-or-no question, the order of a sentence must be changed but in Chinese it’s not.
In this closely-connecting world, younger Chinese generations can’t avoid to some degree having to use English and the overall English level among individuals is increasing. However, there are still much more people who can’t understand English in China, let alone speak it, and I truly hope more actions would be taken for improving the status quo.

I started watching dorama called " The Office " produced by BBC.
When I was looking for drama with English subtitle, I found it. I watched the first episode, then I am stucked on it. The branch office manager played
by Ricky Dene Gervais seems like a real manager. That role is a fucked up piece of shit. I can't wait to see the lest of the story.

As the title says, Granpa Joe risked everyting he had to gave Charlie another chance. Previously, Charlie was unsuccessful looking for the Golden ticket. Therefore, Granpa Joe was as sad as Charlie because of that, and he wanted to tried one more time risking all the money he had. He jus wanted to bring hope to Charlie. At the end, they both failed looking for that ticket again.

Almost three years ago I watched a movie called "Your Name" from Makoto Shinkai. "Your Name" made me cry like any other movie in my life. I've started watching films of Makoto Shinkai when I discovered another movie that made me cry, "Five Centimeters Per Second", is about a boy who is still in love with a girl who met in his childhood, but now the girl is in love with someone else because life separated them. The end is very realistic because they don't end together, and the lesson is: Nothing last forever but we must keep moving forward . Stories about separation, growing up, adolescense and love have captivated my attention and my heart. I would like to write stories that will be able to make people feel identified and understood like Makoto Shinkai's movies made me feel. But first of all to show my love for nature. I really like to finish my posts with haikus, so here they are:
Spring clouds keep moving.
Now we should separate and....
Start moving too.
The jacaranda tree
Where we used to lunch together
Is in bloom but lonely.

Üçüncü bölümünde, Ömer onun nişanlısı ve Elif'in babası birlikte öldürülmemüşler olduğunu düşünüyormuş.
Ömer'in yöneticisi bunu örendiğinde, Ömer'i çok kızgin, ve davayı bıraktığnı emretmiş.
Aynı zamanında, misafirin yöneticisi Elif'i ve Elif'in kız kardeşini birlikte kaçırmış.
Elif'i bırakmış ama Elif'in kız kardeşini kalmış.
Elif elmasları bulmazsa, kız kardeşini öldüreceğini tekrar tehdit etmişler.
Elif geri döndükten sonra, Ömer ona görmüş.
Ömer Elif'in babasının arabasında elması bulmuş.
Daha önce Ömer Elif'i görmüş, ve şu anda elması Elif'e göstermiş.
Elif çok korkunçmuş, ve tam şu anda kaçıran ona izliyormuş, hemen ona telefon etmiş ve Ömer'in kim adam olduğunu sormuş.
Elif kaçırane Ömer'in erkek kardeşi olduğunu söylemiş.
Sonunda Elif'in amcası misafirin yöneticisinin (Adı Metin) yöneticisi olduğunu öğreniyoruz.

*Using this website for the first time so I am not sure how to use it properly, but would be very grateful for the correction.
There was a curious experiment in a book that I am reading now. The professor of photography at the university divided his students into two groups: “quantity group” and quality one. He was going to grade them in two different ways. “Quantity” group would be graded on the amount of photos they produced. “A” could get students who made one hundred photos. The second group would need to produce only one photo and to get an “A” it had to be nearly perfect. At the end of the term he was surprised that the best photos were in “quantity” group, because they are practicing a lot, working with light, etc. They honed their skills by practicing.
I think smth similar we can see in everyday life: some people are focusing on taking action and some are just planning. For most time of my life, I was in a “quality” group. I didn’t want to create something mediocre and relentlessly I created plans. Lots of them. But more often than not plans stayed plans.
I am a teacher of Russian as a foreign language and 3 years ago one of my colleagues suggested me to create some course together. Sometimes I think that was a turning point. One year we were in the “quantity” group and wanted to create something outstanding. So… everything that we had created and what was outstanding was the plan… with zero results. While we are planning we are starting to see many obstacles which cause fears, feeling like an impostor… but when you are in a “quantity” group you center on actions. For the last year we have made 3 courses. We weren’t thinking so much but the result was far beyond our expectations and many ideas came to mind exactly during the process.
So one of the key takeaway from that book: the most effective form of learning is practice, not planning and small steps are also counted in, even if I can’t see results immediately.
