No problem! Yes, you can use "they" or "them" to refer to one person. It's called the "singular they", and it's a gender-neutral way to refer to one person instead of using "he"/"him" or "she"/"her". "I totally didn't expect that person to be the killer" is not wrong, but I think "them" just sounds more concise and stylistically better to me than "that person."

If you say "and they are siblings," the 3 children and siblings seem misrelated or unrelated. Just 3 siblings is clear enough.

It's not actiony and violent, it's more like heartwarming and emotional. There are also a lot of comic relief characters, they make this story less serious, but the ending was pretty sad and emotional. Thank you so much for your corrections!
