The other day, I watched the news that a man fell into a hole, which depth was one meter (about three feet), and dead. The hole was in a construction site, so the construction manager was accused of this accident. Because of this accident, I remembered a slogan for safety: "One meter deprives a life." In Japanese, both "one meter (1メートル)" and "deprives a life(一命取る)" are the same pronunciation, so it's catchy. Is there a slogan like this in English?

Wow, "一命取る" is actually so cool.
Hmm.. I can't think of anything like that in English. Most of the safety slogans are quite boring, but I found a funny one online:
"Hug your kids at home, but belt them in the car!"
Note: belt = seat-belt, but as a verb belt also means to whip.
