Moses

I read the story of Moses and the parting of the Red Sea.
Moses was an Israelite who was born in Egypt and grew up in the palace of Pharaoh.
Moses was the leader of the Israelites.
During his escape, Moses prayed before the Red Sea.
God parted the Red Sea so that the Israelites could pass through safely.
Subsequently, the sea swept away the Egyptian army.
That is how God rescued the Israelites from the hand of the Egyptians.
He led the Israelites out of Egypt and to the Promised Land of Canaan.
However, Moses was not allowed to enter Canaan until his death.

Moses

I recently read the story of Moses and the parting of the Red Sea.

I'm assuming this is past tense.

I read (past tense) sounds better if you specify when, eg. recently, yesterday, last night, etc

I read (present tense) ALSO sounds better if you specify when, eg. sometimes I read xyz, I read every night, etc

Moses was an Israelite who was born in Egypt and grew up in the palace of the Pharaoh.

Moses was the leader of the Israelites.

During his escape, Moses prayed before the Red Sea.

God parted the Red Sea so that the Israelites could pass through safely.

SubsequentlyAfter the Israelites were safe, the sea swept away the Egyptian army.

Subsequently DOES mean "after that", but I think being more specific would sound better here.

That is how God rescued the Israelites from the hands of the Egyptians.

He led the Israelites out of Egypt and to the Promised Land of Canaan.

However, Moses was not allowed to enter Canaan until his death.
