The food was so good. Or "The food was delicious". With good, we can add the modifier "so". But delicious is a strong enough word that it is weird to use an adjective to intensify it.

This can be phrased more colloquially in many ways.
In the afternoon, I called a friend to:
1. hear what he has been up to
2. catch up (with him)
3. connect
If you are saying to find out "how HE is feeling", it implies that he is sick or depressed and you are checking in on their physical or emotional state.
He was so delighted to hear my voice and me too.
He was delighted to hear my voice and me too.
"Delighted" is a lovely and formal word so we wouldn't use "so" in front of it. Delighted "high brow" but So is common day lingo. So is like using the word "cool" but delighted is a word Moliere would use. They don't match. :)

Awesome! Everyone would 100% understand everything you said. It was great. These changes just make it a bit more colloquial.
By the way, the words Recipes, Dishes and Food represent 3 very different things in English.
When you say to "film recipes" is means to make videos of the sheet of paper that has the ingredients on it. So recipe is the sheet of instructions for making the DISH.
Dishes/Food are what you serve.
And food is what you eat.
