I am using an app to make Japanese friends.
My first rule is only pick female side!

Most women I saw on apps like Tandem and Hellotalk had to say in their bios that they weren't looking for romance, so I know that men being creeps is a big problem on those apps. But I also met plenty of Japanese men who were happy to talk to me, and seemed to be genuinely looking to learn and teach other languages.
