Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

It is more important to read or watch news presented by people whose views are different from your own than it is to read or watch news presented by those whose views are similar to your own.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Although news plays an essential role in shaping people’s lives, the way people perceive depends on the person who covers the news that suits their opinions. Some people watch the news if it matches their opinion while others consider different views even though they don’t fit. In my opinion, I think watching news presented by people of different ideas which I do not agree on. This is because it helps me to cover the topic from various viewpoints and distinguish between facts and flaws. Also, viewing an opposite version of my views allows me to increase my critical thinking skills.

First of all, if people watch news that won’t match their opinions, first they will listen to the person’s perspective and analyze the information. In other words, assimilating information from different standpoints gives people an opportunity to understand the difference between factual information and bias data. The USA, for example, a recent incident US capitol riot by the Trump supporters that devastated the nation. As I was a die heart fan of Trump, I usually followed the news that supports Trump. However, after listening to Stephen Colbert's explanation for the causes of the riot and evidence that supports Trump’s involvement in it. Though I won’t agree with him initially, by reading the news of various views regarding the same incident, I realized that he was the mastermind behind this riot. Thus, people like me will be blindsided if we agree to the news that suits our opinions and will never see the reality. Hence, covering the news from different vantage points allow people to refine the information.

Second of all, when people watch the opposite views of their opinions it aids them to increase their critical thinking skills. This means in the case of political conflicts if people continuously arguing about their topic unable to trace out the flaws in the system. India, for example, the ruling YSR party leaders always boast about the positive side of their party and the programs, whereas if people listen to the different sides of the same issue, they can persuade the people who stand in favor of their opinion. Specifically, the YSR party recently launched a program of the daily labors-this program helps labor to work for 3 hours and get pay of 300 rupees. In this way, people who are the potential to perform other duties are reluctant to work on account of the 300 rupees free money. YSR party is doing this even though it creates a huge burden on taxpayers, just because of the votes and for the party's survival. How can I know this flaw that is detrimental to future generations if I have not watched different views? Thus, the government is making people couch potatoes with this scheme. Therefore, people should be aware of the government's motivation behind the execution of the plan which can be accomplished by following news of various opinions that do not meet with our opinion.

In essence, I strongly agree that watching the news from different perspectives that I don’t agree on benefits people in two ways. One way, people recognize the bias information, and the other way people enhance their critical thinking skills.

Looking for some suggestions and how to improve my sentences.

Although news plays an essential role in shaping people’s lives, the way people perceive the world depends on the person who covers the news that suits their opinions.

In this sentence "perceive" needs an object; what are the people perceiving? I'm not sure if you're talking about how they "perceive the world" or "perceive the news."

Some people watch the news if it matches their opinion, while others considerwatch different viewpoints even though they don’t fitisagree.

I don't think "consider" works well because the question is about if people watch news with alternate viewpoints, not if they "consider" them.

In my opinion, I think watching news presented by people ofwith different ideas which I do not agree onisagree with is important.

This sentence needs to either say what you think about this kind of news (I added "is important") or be changed to something like "Personally, I watch news presented by people with different ideas which I disagree with."

Usually "agree on" is a specific topic or plan in question: "We agreed on a date for the meeting."
"agree with" is for a person/opinion/position: "I agree with him." or "I agree with her stance."
I think in this sentence "disagree with" fits better.

This is because it helps me to coversee the topic from various viewpoints and distinguish between facts and flawopinions.

Also, viewing an opposite version of my views allows me to increasmprove my critical thinking skills.

In other words, assimilating information from different standpoints gives people an opportunity to understand the difference between factual information and biased data.

"bias data" makes sense but I usually hear "biased data"

TIn the USA, for example, a recent incident US capitol riot by theriot perpetrated by Trump supporters thatin the US capitol devastated the nation.

As I was a die he-hartd fan of Trump, I usually followed the news that supportsed Trump.

However, after listening to Stephen Colbert's explanation ofor the causes of the riot and evidence that supports Trump’s involvement in it, I reconsidered.

Though I won’t disagreed with himColbert initially, by reading the news ofrom various views regarding the same incident, I realized that heTrump was the mastermind behind this riot.

Thus, people like me will be blindsided if we agree to theonly watch news that suits our opinions and will never see the reality.

Hence, coverwatching the news from different vantage points allow people to refine the information.

"covering the news" would be on the side of the news producers; how do they talk about what happened. As a consumer of that news, it would be "watching" or "viewing."

Second of all, when people watch the opposite views of their opinions, it aids them toin increaseing their critical thinking skills.

This means in the case of political conflicts if, people who are continuously arguing about their topic are unable to trace out the flaws in the system.

I'm not sure what this sentence is trying to say.

In India, for example, the ruling YSR party leaders always boast about the positive side of their party and the programs, whereas. But if people listen to the different sides of the same issue, they can persuade the people who stand in favor of their opinion.

This sentence was too long and wordy so I split it up. Also, I'm not entirely sure what the second half is trying to say. I think being more specific than "people" and "they/their" might help since it's not entirely clear what groups you're referring to.

Specifically, the YSR party recently launched a program of the daily labors-this program help, which allows laborers to work for 3 hours and get pay ofid 300 rupees.

In this way, people who are the potential tocan perform other duties are reluctant to work on account of the 300 free rupees free money.

The YSR party is doing this just for the votes and the party's survival, even though it creates a huge burden on taxpayers, just because of the votes and for the party's survival.

How can I know this flaw that is detrimental to future generations if I havedo not watched different views?

Or "How would I know this flaw is detrimental to future generations if I had not watched different views?"

Thus, the government is making people couch potatoes with this scheme.

Therefore, pPeople should be aware of the government's motivation behind the execution of the plan, which can be accomplished by following the news ofwith various opinions that do not meet with our opinioatch their own.

In essence, I strongly agree that watching the news from different perspectives that I don’t agree on benefits people in two ways.

The phrase "watching the news from different perspectives that I don’t agree on benefits people in two ways" makes it sound like people should watch news that you don't agree with, rather than the intended general principle of everyone watching news they don't agree with.

One way, pPeople will recognize the biased information, and the other way people enhance their critical thinking skills.
