Today I went tofor my apointment with my Ddoctor but I didn't manage to find my own Ddoctor because he camewent back to his hometown.

"To come" and "to go" are determined by where you are. Since you're at the hospital, we say that the doctor "went" back to his hometown. If someone is elsewhere and arriving at the hospital while you're still there, we say some is "coming" to the hospital.
