Today my sister arrived from Algiers.
It had been 2 months since I’d last seen her, so I was delighted to see her after two monthsgain.
I think it would be nice to expand this a little, like in my suggestion! Another option could be: The last time I saw her was 2 months ago, so I was delighted to see her again.
She'll be starting to work on Sunday.

In the US, we use the word "work" like an uncountable noun sometimes. When we start a new job, we say, "I'm starting work on Sunday."
