Actually, I can write more of what I've learned of Ali's book.
But I get boring, so I was lying on my chair, closed my eyes.
I heard a really loud noise, I looked outside the window.
'Oh, there's a strong wind outside, I remember it's been raining for a couple of days. Should I write about that?'
'What do they called? A cyclone, gale, windstorm etc.?'
I realized that I don't know anything about the weather vocabulary. So I gave up.
How about another topics, war, transportation, money, and ... uhm ... love?
I don't know either xD
And i write this post in order to keep my writing streak.
(I get confused when to use past simple and past continuous. Could you explain please, if you'd like to?)
Writer's Block Again
Actually, I canould write more of what I've learned ofrom Ali's book.
When saying we have the ability to do something but have already chosen not to, it's basically always going to be "could" over "can."
But I geot boringed, so I was lying olied in my chair, and closed my eyes.
Boring = adjective for something/someone who/that causes boredom
Bored = adjective for the person experiencing boredom
"This book is boring. I'm bored."
For your question about past simple vs continuous,
All of these are possible:
But I was getting bored as I was lying in my chair and closing my eyes.
= The three actions are described as simultaneously happening and feel equally important
But I got bored as I was lying in my chair and closing my eyes.
= I know you got bored, but I am more focused on you performing the next two actions
But I got bored as I lied in my chair and was closing my eyes.
= Same idea, I am focused on the fact that you were actively closing your eyes
I heard a really loud noise, so I looked outside the window.
Adding "so" as part of the logical connection makes the sentence feel less abrupt
'"Oh, there's a strong wind outside, I rememberalize that it's been raining for a couple of days.
Should I write about that?'
'What do they called it?
You can continue under the same quotation since this is part of the same thought bubble.
A cyclone, gale, windstorm etc.?', something else?"
I realized that I don't know anything about the weather vocabulary.,
Sso I gave up.
Better to combine this with the above line
How about another topics, like war, transportation, money, and or... uhm ... love?
I don't know what to wrote for those either. xD

I'm just writeing this post in order to keep my (writing) streak.
It's good to avoid beginning sentences with "and" when possible.
(I get confused when to use past simple and past continuous.

My brain isn't skilled enough to answer your question! The advice I always give for using -ing (used for continuous ; she was sitting...) is when the focus is on the subject actively performing the action. But if it suffices to say that the subject has completed the action, using the past simple (she sat...), then that's fine too. They each create different tones which I'll try to explain:
"She was sitting in the front row" My attention is called to the fact that she was sitting down. As a reader, I'm more engaged with this action.
"She sat in the front row" I still know that she did this same action as above in the past, but it feels less important, it's just a detail.
I hope others chime in because for me this is a complex area.
