Word Count
I write a few words in LangCrrect also in Chinese.
Someone corrected me my post then I wrote a comment “謝謝” means thank you, however I couldn’t post the message because the system said ‘Message needs to be at least 10 characters long.’
Then I wrote “謝謝您的指正” means thank you for your corrections, but there weren’t enough characters yet.
However there are the people who can post messages less 10 characters.
I wonder how I can do.

添削してくれたた人がいたので、コメントで「謝謝」（ありがとう）と書いたら、文字が10字以上いるとメッセージが出て、送信できなかった。
だから、「謝謝您的指正」（添削をしてくれてありがとう）と書いたけど、まだ文字が足りない。
でも他の人は10文字以下のコメントを書いている人もいる。
どうしたらいいんだろう。

Yes, that sounds like a bug. I have made many comments on my corrections with only 5 characters. Maybe the website is not recognizing the Chinese alphabet correctly sometimes. Sorry that I can't help you.

It's recognizing the Chinese characters correctly because in both examples the character counts were less than 10. Can you provide a link to a post where the character count check is being bypassed? I'll look into it! The issue is created and logged here: https://github.com/LangCorrect/server/issues/442.

I agree that it’s recognizing Chinese characters correctly. The problem is, in Chinese, most words consist of just one or two characters each, so a 10-character minimum is effectively a 5 to 10 word minimum for Chinese. This forces Chinese comments to be unnaturally wordy. We can’t, for example, simply say “thank you for your corrections” (5 words and 26 characters in English) because the equivalent Chinese phrase, 謝謝您的指正 (to borrow milky way’s example), consists of just 6 characters. Nor can we reply “you’re welcome” (13 characters in English) because the Chinese equivalent is just 3 characters long: 不客氣

Thanks for pointing this out. I wanted to encourage thoughtful responses with character limits, but I see it's causing issues for Chinese. The simplest solution would be to just check that the reply isn't empty. Maybe in a future update, these limitations can be revisited with min counts based on a per language basis.

There seems to be a slight misunderstanding. The text under the "Feedback" section is different from a reply. It's added separately by a corrector on the "Make a Correction" page. This is why they can write "寫得很好！" without seeing a minimum character count error.
Regarding the "thank you" button, some discussions have happened in the past. The general agreement is that manually writing a thank you message is more meaningful and shows more effort than just clicking a button. However, it's possible that a thank you button might be considered in the future. If you have ideas to make the button more meaningful, please share them!
