Today I went to the cinema with my other roommate's girlfriend. (For those who read my yesterday's text, you need to know that I have two roommates!) We watched a movie named Chien blanc (White dog). It's about an episode of Romain Gary's life and inspired by one of his books. It takes place in the US and begins with the announcement by JFK of Martin Luther King's assassination. The central story is that of a dog that suddenly appears in Romain Gary's yard. It's a very nice dog. The family decides to adopt it. But a bit later, they find out that it's a “white dog”, which means that it was trained to attack black people. Romain Gary can't resign himself to kill it. He decides to have it “untrained”. Around this story, the movie deals with the fight of black people, the hope for a more tolerant society, the right to take life away from any individual…
The dialogues are in French and English. Mainly in English, I think. But actually there are not a lot of dialogues. The movie is mainly silent! And yet, it says so many things!
I really liked it.

Unfortunately, "my today's" etc. is unnatural.
