Which can be more valued? Elder people or youth?
Older people in a society can be respected, whereas in another society their counterpart might not be respectful as younger people. In my opinion, everyone is equal, and both of these two groups are equally important.
In some Asian countries, the custom "respecting elders" which, though is regarded as something obsolete nowadays, has always been perceived as a good virtue can cause some older people to be arrogant and to rampantly criticize and bully youth. What is worse, some of youth even have to be confronted with career ceiling due to their senior colleagues' power, oppression and alienation. Young people's ideas and emotions can be suppressed, and hence it can precipitate rebellions, high rates of suicide and a large amount of brain drain.
On the other hand, in some cultures, creativity and innovation are encouraged, which is suitable for young people, for they could exert what they are adept to and apply it to make a contribution to society. Moreover, in turn, encouraged audacious proposals in politics can be spoken up, building a fundamental condition where the young's efforts will pay off because the rights they strive for can be confirmed. It may be the ideal condition which our human beings have been progressively pursuing.
