One of my friends is getting marrying at the end of year, so now she worked very hard to make the wedding ceremony as perfect as possible although there is no such thing as perfect wedding ceremony. Things are always out of control.
just like my wedding ceremony.
My brother got married four years ago, and I was with him to do anything anyone asked me to do on the day of his wedding ceremony. I decided not to have wedding ceremony after I realized how a wedding ceremony could stressed my brother and his wife out.
Two years ago, I talked to my girlfriend blair about the idea of not having wedding ceremony. she agreed with me , and I had known that she would agree with me because she was with me on the day of my brother ceremony.
However, it was not just us "blair and I " who can make this decision in a chinese society. it had something to do with our family, so we need to get support from our parents.
For bliar, it is not a problem to get support from her parents. she was not close to her family due to some complicated family issue. After she graduated from college she seldom went home as well as keeping in touch with them. Their pattern of interaction is that they only mind their own business, respect the decision others made. So they wouldn't object about anything she already had decided.
For me, it is a biggest problem to talk my mom and dad into accepting my idea. I was very close to my family. My parents had a high responsibility for their children life. They always said to us that it was their duty to raise us, to support us to study until we graduate from college, and eventually hold our wedding ceremony. So far they had done a great job. My wedding ceremony was part of their plan for me, and they wouldn't accept my idea.
I remember the time when I went home with blair to tell them my idea. I sat with bilar on a couch across the table from my dad and my mom. I chatted about some ordinary thing to them at first, because I think if they were happy that would increase a little chance of success. I brought this topic when I thought it was a good timing. I know now with hindsight there would never have been a good timing.
"we don't want to have wedding ceremony, we just want to register our marriage." I said.
As I expected, they couldn't accept the idea, it is like I was violating the rule that moral people should follow.
No matter how many strategies I tried to change their mind, they always had a reason to refuse me although all the reason sounded stupid to me.
After that, I even made my aunt help me persuade them, but it still failed.
They were stubborn like a rock.
So I was about to prepare our wedding ceremony with my girlfriend who was as reluctant as me at that time.
That was the first thing out of my control in the process of preparing the wedding ceremony.
What we talk about when we talk about wedding ceremonyies
One of my friends is getting marrying at the end of year, so now she worked veryshe has been working hard to make the wedding ceremony as perfect as possible although there is no such thing as the perfect wedding ceremony.
"Worked very hard" indicates that she is no longer working hard on it, but since you say that she is getting married at the end of the year, this does not make sense.
Things areSomething is always out of control, just as they were during my wedding.
"Things": things overall
"Something" makes it more specific and sounds more appropriate here, since you probably don't mean that absolutely nothing could be controlled.
just like my wedding ceremony.
My brother got married four years ago, and I was with him to do anything anyone asked me to do on the day of his wedding ceremonyon the day of his wedding ceremony to do anything that was asked of me.
"Anything anyone asked me to do" sounds a bit inelegant.
Moving up the temporal adverbial phrase makes the meaning clearer.
I decided not to have a wedding ceremony after I realized how having a wedding ceremony could stressed my brother and his wife out.
Two years ago, I talked to my girlfriend bBlair about the idea of not having a wedding ceremony.
sShe agreed with me , and I had known that she would agree with me because she was with me on the day of my brother's ceremony.
However, it wais not just us "bBlair and I " who can make this decision in a cChinese society.
iIt had something to do withconcerns our family, so we need to get support from our parents.
For bliaBlair, it is not a problem to get support from her parents.
sShe wais not close to her family due to some complicated family issue.
"Is" is better because this is clearly a situation that persists into the present.
After she graduated from college, she seldom went home as well asor keepingt in touch with them.
Their pattern of interaction is that they only mind their own business, and respect the decisions others madke.
So they wouldn't object abouto anything she has already had decided.
For me, it is a biggest problemwas difficult to talk my mom and dad into accepting my idea.
I wasam very close to my family.
My parents hadve borne a high responsibility for their children's lifeves.
They always said to us that it was their duty to raise us, to support us to study until we graduated from college, and to eventually hold our wedding ceremony.
"To" is part of the parallel structure because you included it in "to support us," so it can't be omitted in the last part.
So far they hadve done a great job.
Imperfect: action has been completed and describes the past
Present prefect: action describes a present state and may still be ongoing.
My wedding ceremony was part of their plan for me, and they wouldn't accept my idea.
I remember the time when I went home with bBlair to tell them about my idea.
I sat with biBlair on a couch across the table from my dad and my mom.
I chatted about some ordinary thing to them at first, because I thinkought if they were happy , that would increase a littlthe chance of success a little.
I brought this topic up when I thought it was a good timinge.
I know now with hindsight there would never have been a good timinge.
"wWe don't want to have wedding ceremony,; we just want to register our marriage.,"
The period is replaced with a comma if the end of the quotation is not the end of the bigger syntactical structure to which it belongs:
- "It's raining," I said. "We should go out tomorrow instead."
- She said, "I left because I waited for three hours without anyone appearing."
I said.
As I expected, they couldn't accept the idea, it i. It was like I was violating thea rule that moral people should follow.
Be careful of comma splices. In certain situations, omitting the conjunction can work, but this is not one of them.
No matter how many strategies I triedused to try to change their mind, they always had a reason to refuse me although all the reasons sounded stupid to me.
After that, I even made my aunt help me persuade them, but it still failed.
They were stubborn like a rock.
So I was abouthad to prepare our wedding ceremony with my girlfriend, who was as reluctant as meI was at that time.
Feedback
Be careful with tense and verb agreement! The timeline for the story got a little confusing in some places because the tense didn't fit what I would have expected.

Oh wow! Weddings are hard...
1) Wedding = Ceremony + Party. "I was invited to the wedding" Or "I was invited to the wedding but not the ceremony"
2) Tenses are difficult! Don't be discouraged!
