What I think about luck and similar concepts.
I'm going to write this post as a young girl who has been hammered with the idea of just working hard all her life. I'm a biomedical researcher and completed my postgraduate studies in oncology research, and after 10 years of study and vocational work, I have come to realize that meritocracy is simply a myth. You need huge amounts of luck and an amazing network (or rich parents) in your life!
Anyway, it's true that hard work intersects with luck, and it makes it easier for you to succeed (or at least, to feel more fullfilled and less like a failure)
