The mountain areas usually have fewer people. I think the reason why this may be because the mountain area has fewer farmland, so it cannot support many people living there. But the mountain area is very quiet and the air is very fresh, so I think people living here can have a longevity. But as a person who is born and growing in the plain areas, if they occasionally visit mountain areas for a short time that is ok, but stay a little longer, they may feel bored. Overall, transportation in the mountain area is not developed and the mountains will block your vision. You can't see faraway. These are my points about the mountain areas, but I don't know if they are right.

The mountain areas usually have fewer people.

Although your sentence's not grammatically wrong, it sounds kinda odd. I'd say something like: "The areas are usuallz inhabited by fewer people" or "Fewer people tend to live in the mountain areas."

I think the reason why this may be is because the mountain area has fewerless farmland, so it cannot support too many people living there.
