Weekend Trip
I am planing a weekend trip.
Shinkansen (high-speed trains) fares are expensive :_(
Actually I want to stay for two nights because I am going to go far away, but due to various reasons, it will only one night.
I'm a little worried because the weather forecast said it might snow.
I hope I have a pleasant trip.

新幹線代が高い（＞＜）
せっかく遠出するので、本当は２泊くらいしたいのですが、諸々の事情で１泊になりました。
天気予報で雪になる可能性があると言っていたので、少し心配です。

I wish we had high-speed trains where I live. We have to drive or fly most places because the trains are so slow.

「せっかく」は英語に翻訳できない表現だと思います。その「せっかく」があるので、文には残念な気持ちが感じますね。その気持ちを伝えるために「I'd love to」を付け足したのですが、まだ物足りないと感じます。個人的には以下のように書きます。
It's not always that I go on such a far off trip, so I'd love to stay for two nights. Unfortunately, due to various reasons, it will just be a one night stay.
