I'm back
I feel like taking a break for a week was good. However, I still haven't done any of the things I meant to do. I want to keep studying English by myself but in a serious way. I'll need resources for learning theory and exercises, which I should have looked for. I also wanted to revise my old notes and read my old English books. I have some notes and photocopies I used for practicing, but I can't find my books, so I guess I gave them to my brother. I also haven't re-read books I own in English. I've just remembered I wanted to read a Word document about essays too.
To sum up, I've got a lot of things to do. I'm not really sure how to track my progress in terms of writing. I'm also not sure how to actually learn from corrections. I guess I'll have to figure it out.
Does anyone else think they overshare when writing journals? Because I do, but that's probably because I actually do overshare.

Glad to have you back! Haha I was wondering why I didn't see your name or journals recently. Yes, I do agree that taking a break/some time off from anything that brings you stress is good. What'd you do during your break, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm also trying to figure out how to learn from my corrections, and I've recently been trying out a new method. I am going back to re-write my original writing and then using a red pen to put an star/other symbol and write below (after my original writing-so like a whole new paragraph) in red the new corrections I've received. This way I can see what I originally wrote and how I can improve with other's corrections. Just beware, this method takes quite some time, so maybe it'd be better to write a paper draft first, put it onto LangCorrect then have it ready for adding corrections later.
Oh, to answer your question about oversharing in journals, I also feel the same haha :p. I guess I just don't know when to stop talking sometimes.

Hi Curiosity345!
I can't believe you remember me haha. During the break I mostly slept about ten hours a day because I was exhausted from socializing. Being an introvert that hadn't socialized in a large group of people for months, my energy was very low after going out three days in a row. I also had fun in my pool, tidied up my room and watched Netflix a lot.
Oh, that's a good method, as you can see your writing as a whole and not fragmented in corrected sentences (that also take a lot of space). I also prefer to study from paper that form the computer, so I may try it.

Great to hear you were able to relax and recharge during your break! Yes, I'm an extrovert (mostly) haha, but being social does take a lot of energy out of you! You deserve the rest time. Ohh sounds like you had a nice relaxing break! I also need to tidy up my room as well, since I've been neglecting it with the school work.
We are also officially on break (in the US)! So I hope I can relax but also do things that I've been putting off during the semester and accomplish my goals for the end of this year. I just wanted to give myself some motivation and joined Instagram with a studygram account! I remember you wrote an older post about spending too much time on IG, so maybe starting a studygram account can be an outlet/counter to keep you motivated but still connected socially? Just a suggestion :)
Yes, you're right it does take a lot of paper as well! Haha. If you do try this method out, please let me know if it's helpful or not.

For clarity I would recommend explaining the type of exercises (grammar/vocabulary/pronunciation) because at first the sentence reads as you wanting to learn “theory and exercises”

I could really relate to this journal. I have really high expectations when it comes to learning Spanish and I often feel like I am not studying hard enough or improving fast enough. Recently I haven’t been feeling that way (I think since I’ve been focusing so much on my writing practice) but I’m sure it will come back soon... especially in regard to my speaking abilities.
I think you write very well and I congratulate you for all the hard work you have put in! I hope you are able to come up with a study plan that works for you.

I’ve never been much of a flash card person but I think this helps me to remember new phrases I learn from corrections or common mistakes I make. The only issue that it takes time to make cards so I don’t create new ones as often as I should, lol.
For corrections that are not conducive to flash cards, I just bookmark them and try to remember to go back and look at them again every once in a while.

I think it's interesting when people write about their lives and I always look forward to reading what people write, especially when I feel like I have gotten to know them through their previous entries :)

If it helps, I like what you write and I think you do it very well. You'll eventually get where you want to if you keep practicing and studying. I also wanted you to know that even native speakers make mistakes, so you are more than allowed to make them too.
Something that I love doing when studying English pronunciation is mimicking someone. If you think someone's pronunciation is good, try to repeat what they've said how they said it. Music, videos and series can help. Try to find things that suit your interests so that you'll enjoy learning. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to contact me.
