An analogy for langcorrect.com
I think that langcorrect.com reminds me of a library, because everyone is here to learn. Not of a classroom, because not every student has actually volunteered to be there.
What I particularly like about this website is that there is nothing superfluous in it: no profile pictures, DMs or other distractions. Nowadays, when everything around us is trying to grab our attention and distract us, this characteristic seems especially valuable. I also like that there are so many enthusiastic learners and correctors here. Awaiting and meticulously analyzing feedback always lifts my mood, especially when it's detailed and helpful. I feel very content to be part of this community (and also to have the seventh-largest active streak 😀).
I wish there were a website like that for pronunciation, since I am very pationate about it as well!

I would continue to use "this" to refer to langcorrect.com ("this website, this community") and contrast it with "that."
"That" is always further away from the speaker than "this," so the fact that you are not part of such a site and wish you were is expressed better with "that" than with "it."

Thank you!! While writing, I wasn't sure about the difference between "there was " and "there were", but I chose the latter since it seems to be more grammatically correct. What do you think?

I agree. You may hear people say "I wish there was ...." in conversation. It might be fine. For example, you could say, "I wish there was a way to get my pronunciation corrected online without having to pay a tutor." That sounds ok to me, but you could also use "were" in that sentence. Maybe it depends on the context, on speaking vs writing, on whether you are talking casually or in a more formal situation. But, I freely admit that grammar is not my strong point, and I tend to go by what sounds right. The grammar police might tell you to use "were" every time!

I think that is an accurate analogy. I also think maybe the paid version offers uploading files (maybe including audio?), but since there is no way for a corrector to upload their own audio, I think that correcting your pronunciation would be too difficult and it wouldn't be worth it.
My guess is that this site is kept to text-only due to it costing so much less in bandwidth and storage. If you think about how much it takes to store text on a computer, it's only 1 byte per character, so an entire 500-page book is less than 1MB, whereas even just 1 minute of audio is already about 1MB. So that's like ~1000 times as expensive.
