UX writers

Topic’s description:

What do you think UX writers do?
Do you agree with the tweet?

‘UX writers are underappreciated. UX writing - all the text on the websites you interact with every day - is critical to a product’s quality.
Good UX writing usually goes unnoticed, because the user’s experience is seamless. Bad UX writing leads to frustration and resentment.’

****

My answer:

I have been working as QA engineer for about 2 years, and i consider the text on the websites as requirements, which just should be implemented. In my case, clients tell what content should be on the websites. So, there is no need to UX writing. Actually, i never met any ux-writers. I googled what UX writers do, if i understand this right way, they create content, to help users navigate in the product.
I have been thinking analysts can do such tasks as write a good text. I agree with this tweet, in some way. And I don't understand the need to have UX writers, they can be replaced by analysts or designers.

I have been working as QA engineer for about 2 years, and
i considerI think of the text on the websites only as requirements, which just should that need to be implemented.

The placement of “just” in this sentence was a little confusing. I’m a software engineer so I understand that we don’t always think about how text (in instructions, for example) affects a user’s experience with an application or website. We engineers typically just want to get the job done, so we often fail to consider how someone who doesn’t think like us will interpret the text we write. I edited your sentence to better reflect this problem we engineers face.

In my case, clients tellsay what content should be on the websites.

So, there is no need tofor UX writing.

Actually, iI have never met any ux-UX writers.

I googled what UX writers do, and if iI understand this right waood correctly, they create content, to help users navigate in the product.

I have been thinking analysts can do such tasks aslike write aing good text.

Nice job on your post! It was easy to understand.

Your post was also very interesting and relevant to the work I do as a software engineer. I work at an American bank that builds its own website and mobile banking application for customers, in addition to internal websites for employees. UX writing is very important because, if we don’t write something well, we’ll cause confusion for customers who will then call customer service more than they need to or simply stop doing business with us. In other words, better UX writing leads to a better experience for customers and more money for the company.

I have been working as
a QA engineer for about 2 years, and iI consider the text on the websites as requirements, which just should just be implemented.

Remember to capitalise "I" when using it as a personal pronoun.

"QA engineer" needs an article, in this case "a QA engineer".

"should just" sounds more natural that "just should".

I think the additional comma before "which" may not be necessary.

In my case, clients tell me / us what content should be on the websites.

"tell" needs to come with an object - i.e. who are the clients telling this? Presumably you ("me" option) or your team ("us" option).

So, there is no need to do any UX writing. [ OR "no need for UX writing." ]

"no need to" would need to be followed by a verb, e.g. no need to do something. "no need for" can be followed by a noun, though. Either option works.

Actually, iI have never met any ux-UX writers.

Need to capitalise "I" here.

"I have never met..." would be the correct way of writing this. "I never met..." would work in other situations (e.g. "I never met any UX writers at the conference") but if you are saying globally that you have never met any UX writers, then you will need to use the corrected phrase above.

I googled what UX writers do, and if iI understand thisit the right way, they create content, to help users navigate in the product.

Capitalising "I" again.

The comma after "content" is unnecessary / incorrect.

"navigate in the product" sounds unnatural. Assuming that the product is a website, you would say "navigate the website" and not "navigate in the website".

I have been thinking analysts can do such tasks such as write a good text.

I would suggest "tasks such as..." works better and sounds more natural than "such tasks as..."

I agree with this tweet, in some ways.

And I don't understand the need to have UX writers,; they can be replaced by analysts or designers.

If you want to be grammatically correct here, you will either need to split your two phrases into two separate sentences ("And I don't understand the need to have UX writers. They can be replaced by analysts or designers.") or use a semicolon instead of a comma as in the corrected version of your sentence above. (The correct usage of semicolons is also something that native English speakers tend to struggle with!)

Good work! Although there are a few grammar errors, your text is clear and easy to understand.

Can see that you have missed out on capitalising "I" a few times, which is quite a basic mistake so make sure to correct that right away (fortunately this is quite easy to fix as there are no complex rules).

Otherwise, I enjoyed reading your post. Well done on using a wide vocabulary to describe/explain quite a technical concept!

I don't know if UX writer or ux-writer is more correct for this title, I just changed it to be consistent with the rest of your text.

Present tense "I think" makes more sense between your previous and your next statement.
