Did you know that the US is the third most populous country in the world and has the economy with the largest GDP?
The United States has the longest interstate highway system in the world.
Today I want to talk about this fascinating country, as well as its history and its people.
The history of the US is a tale of courage, innovation and growth.
It all began in the 17th century, when European settlers established colonies along the East Coast.
In 1585, the Roanoke Colony, the first English foothold in North America mysteriously vanished, setting the stage for future attempts.
By 1776, thirteen colonies sought freedom from British rule.
The Statue of Liberty is is the most famous statue in the world.
It's a symbol of the United States of America, and it was actually a gift from France.
Although it looks like a traditional sculpture, it is a skyscraper in its own right.
Since 1886, the Statue of Liberty has served as a beacon for immigrants, millions of whom have poured into the United States.
At the beginning of the 19th century, the population of the US was less than 4 million, by 1920 it was more than 100 million.
This transformation redefined the American identity and signaled the beginning of modern American history.
Of coures, English is the primary language, yet you will hear a multitude of languages spoken throughout the country.
Spanish is the second foreign language for most Americans.
I woke up and checked the news this morning.
It seems Donald Trump is still president.

The Statue of Liberty is is the most famous statue in the world.

I think if you are going to use "actually", as in you are rebutting something, it is best to pair it with "but".
Although it looks like a traditional sculpture, it is a skyscraper in its own right.
Since 1886, the Statue of Liberty has served as a beacon for immigrants, millions of whom have poured into the United States.
Excellent use of whom!
At the beginning of the 19th century, the population of the US was less than 4 million, but by 1920 it was more than 100 million.
This transformation redefined the American identity and signaled the beginning of modern American history.
Of coures, English is the primary language, yet you willcan hear a multitude of languages spoken throughout the country.
I think these are the 2 most natural versions:
1. "English is the primary language, yet you can hear a multitude of languages spoken throughout the country."
OR
2. Of course, English is the primary language, but you can hear a multitude of other languages throughout the country."
This is mostly because I'm not sure that "yet" pairs well with the use of "of course" at the start of the sentence.
Spanish is the second foreign language for most Americansmost common language.
I would phrase this as either:
- Spanish is the second most common language in America.
OR
- Spanish is the most common second language for Americans.
I'm not sure if I would use the word foreign at all for Spanish in America, as it seems so common and entrenched there.
I woke up and checked the news this morning.
It seems Donald Trump is still president.
Feedback
I'm very impressed by your use of whom - it will definitely make you sound like an educated English speaker. Most of my corrections are just about flow or sounding natural, so overall this is a very good piece of writing.
