Popular Languages to Learn during the Lockdown

According to the illustration uploaded by some twitter user, Japanese language is apparently popular among English-speaking countries such as Northern America, Australia, and New Zealand. (https://www.visualcapitalist.com/most-popular-languages-people-want-to-learn/) However, I'm suspicious about this statics because there is no motivations to learn Japanese other than sightseeing or unique culture. In spite of Chinese population and prosperous economy, it shows that only two countries, Laos and Belize, are interested in Mandarin Chinese. In addition, it must be hard to find Japanese native speakers or learn by themselves. In fact, some Japanese courses have closed down at U.S. universities these days.
Aside from the number of learners, I'm glad to hear that people who have grown up in foreign countries get interested in Japanese culture. I hope that there is a opportunity to talk with them in person after the state of emergency is lifted. I'm so curious about how our society looks through their eyes.
