Truth

One of my best friends told me she was pregnant today, although last month she told me she didn't want to have a baby with her husband too early.
She told me she was going to divorce, and she had notified all her families in March. I went to visit her in April, and she told me that she would not do that because of their complex economic problem.
She told me that she would go abroad with me if she had been single in the end of last year.
She told me that she found her husband was in debt in November, 2020. They spent the whole following year to pay the bills. She hadn't wanted to let her parents know it, but she had to ask for their help in the end.
Before she got married, she had broken up with her husband once. I was so happy she did that because I didn't think they were suitable while the guy was low graduated and lazy. When they were together again, I said nothing, since it was her choice.
Well, it seems that I took myself too seriously.

When 2 events happened in the past, the one that happened first should be in past perfect tense. in your previous journal about your sick student, there was the same issue. i left it like that because i did not want to break your wind but please check it here: https://englishstudyhere.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/10-Sentences-of-Present-Perfect-Past-Perfect-and-Future-Perfect-Tense.png

She told me she was going to divorce, and she had notified all her familiesy in March.

She told me that she would go abroad with me if she had been single inby the end of lastnew year.

Before she got married, she had broken up with her husband oncethen fiance once (this is better they were not married yet).

I was so happy she did that because I didn't think they were suitable whilbecause the guy was low grais not well educated and lazy (i assume he still is).

Yes. So when I'm descibing something true, I should use present tense, right?

Hello,

her family and not her families: her family includes her cousins, her brothers, sisters, her mother and father.. but not his hubbys family.. when you wanted to included the husbands family as well, you shall say: both the families..

he is not well educated: from your story, seemingly the friend still has problems with the husband. so i think he is not rehabilitated.. since it is a situation that has not changed, better to use the present tense.. like you cant say where was the birmingham palace?? because it still is where it has been..
