You wrote some of the sentence in the present tense. Perhaps the text would be better in the past tense? Otherwise it seems as though this is a regular occurence.
Additionally, it's good not to mix up tenses. You started with the present tense but used the past tense later. It's better to use one tense throughout (in this case). I hope this makes sense :)
