Torrential rain
The scorching weather has persisted for a few days, and air conditioners work 24 hours to cool people. I live in a city tagged as one of the "Three Furnaces" cities along the Yangtze River, the heat permeates everything outdoors. We have been desiring a rain to drop the mercury figures under the sunrays.
This morning, however, an unexpected torrential rain has been pelting down and is still ongoing. At 7hailing AM, My wife and I failed to find any taxis and hailing cars, we had to return home while clothes seeped, the umbrella is useless at the moment, anyone won't be fined or criticized if they were late for their job today. This rain has indeed caused severe congestion on the roads, I don't know how much precipitation it is, but even the subway stopped in some certain areas.
Many cars are trapped in water, this is a big challenge to our municipal infrastructure.
