Tomb Sweeping Day
清明(qīng míng) is a special traditional day in China. People are supposed to go back to their hometown to pay tribute to their ancestors in front of their ancestors' tombs before the Qingming comes.
I was born and raised in a small village and my family has a piece of farmland. My daddy was buried there decades ago.
At the end of last year, my mom passed away. I buried her there together with my daddy.
Tomb Sweeping Day of this year is coming. It's on 5th April.
According to Chinese tradition, I should sweep the tomb ahead of Tomb Sweeping day.
My home village is away from the city where I live 71 kilometers, which takes about one hour and a half.
I will go back with my whole family to sweep my parents' tomb because it's the first year after my mom passed away.
We usually buy firecrackers, hell bank notes (a kind of yellow paper), paper gold ingots and so on before sweeping the tomb.
When we arrived at the tomb, we set off the firecrackers, burn the sacrifices, kowtow and say something like "Mom, I am here to see you, and bring you some money; please take good care of yourself", something like this.
Sweeping my parents' tomb always makes me sad, every time, but I can't do anything. Death is the law of nature and no one can escape from it.

Since this is meant to inform people, 'dad' would be more appropriate to use. 'daddy' is used in personal settings, usually when someone is talking to their family.

If you don't want to use the word 'responsibility', you can say "but I have to do it" or "but I have not choice". If you were to say you have no choice though, it could communicate that you don't want to do it at all.
