Today's Plan
It’s my precious day off, but the weather isn’t good across the country. I’m thinking of driving for Yamanashi, the land connected to my ancestors, but I don’t feel like doing so if it rains. On my previous day off, I had planned to relax in my garden and read under the autumn sky, but it started to drizzle halfway through, so I gave up.

If you prefer, you can replace "across" with "throughout" or "all over" and keep the rest of the phrase. I don't think you need to specify a place though. In this context, we can tell that you mean where you are or where you're going.
