Please correct all the expressions here.
I want to make sure these sentences are correct because they will be shown quite often during my Anki review. Anki is an electronic flashcard system that helps with memorization. I am kind of a serious student of English writing ;)

Traveling from an adjacent country, I needed a piece of advice about accommodation where I would store my baggage and luggage. However, I had trouble in finding the right one. I read local news to get information on my future work for buying daily bread, although progress was slow. These would be typical behavior of foreigners.
Additionally other things were needed to be successful. I had to utilize all my previous knowledge, perform field research searching for helpful evidence, and do lots of homework within limited and permitted time.

"baggage and luggage" is redundant. I know you said not to change it, but as it stands no one would talk like this. Also, "accommodation" makes no sense in this context.

I’ve never haven't given it much thought.
Actually the original sentence was from a book full of handy daily expressions. I want to memorize one of them because these common expressions are not hard-wired into me. Which one is more common? Is the choice solely dependent on personal preference?

I would use them in different contexts. It's hard to explain why exactly. But when you say "never" it sounds more dismissive, whereas if you say "I haven't given it much thought" you imply you could still do so in the future -- so it sounds more polite. If I bring up a topic, and you say "I've never given it much thought" I might get the impression you think I am stupid for caring about this topic and that you are trying to shut down the discussion. I suppose it is a subtle difference.

It looks like a subtlety, but I think the recipient in a real conversational situation would not miss the difference. I would rather use your expression for the sake of safety. Thank you for the clarification!

It sounds better for some reason to be repetitive in this sentence. You could also say "When can 'hair' be used as an uncountable noun or as a countable one?"

A few more: "I don't have a strong feeling either way" or "I could go with either / any of those options" or "Whatever you choose/decide is fine with me" or "I would need to know more before I could form an opinion" depending on the context.

A lot of these are fine, but I would need to see a sentence that they come after. "Exactly" and "for sure" are used when you agree with someone's opinion. The task you mentioned originally seems more formal than that, but it might just be a formal statement used in a textbook.

Thank you. You helped me a lot! And yes, a serious student of English may also be serious in English writing. If someone is serious only in writing that language, that will lead to the right question: why they are serious in writing specifically other than anything else?^^

By the way, would you like to explain why "the" is needed in the following sentence or why "local news" without any determiner is inappropriate?

I would be happy to try to explain! I will admit, as I am a native speaker, sometimes I am trying to justify a difference that is based only on a feeling! But here goes nothing (which is a good colloquial phrase to add to your list).
If I say "I read the local news today" it indicates that you did a specific action at a specific time with a specific newspaper or set of newspapers. The "the" makes the action specific, not general.
If I say "I read local news to learn about what is happening in my neighborhood and town" it indicates that local news general medium. You could replace it with "books" or "newspapers" or "pamphlets" and it would indicate something you do habitually.
So, reflecting on this, the "the" in my comment might not have been needed! Quick question though, did you mean present tense or past tense? "I read (pronounced: reed) local news" or "I read (pronounced: red) local news."? For some reason, if it is in the present you could include or not include the "the" and it would sound fine. If it was past tense then the "the" can help distinguish between a specific action and a general habit of actions.

Thank you for the clarification and the interesting new expression! I meant past tense and used "local news" as a medium for collecting information in general. Anyway, I wrote the weird paragraphs just for a mnemonic purpose :) And you know what? As Korean, choosing the right determiner is one of the trickest parts of English study, so I want to learn every bit of information regarding it when I encounter a possible problematic use. That's the reason why I asked you about it ;)
