My Weekend 23/24 May 2020
This weekend was very cold, I didn't leave the house, I took the time to study, read books, watch movies and today Monday is a holiday here in my state. Today's holiday was actually an anticipation of the 1932 Constitutionalist Revolution holiday originally celebrated on 9 July. This decision to anticipate this holiday was made by the state governor who wanted the population to stay at home so as not to have crowds of people, in order to reduce the spread of Coronavirus. Unfortunately, many people are not respecting how this isolation measure should.
Esse fim de semana foi muito frio, eu não saí de casa aproveitei o tempo para estudar, ler livros assistir séries e filmes, e hoje segunda-feira é feriado aqui no meu estado. Na verdade o feriado de hoje foi uma antecipação do feriado da Revolução Constitucionalista de 1932 comemorado originalmente em 9 de Julho. Essa decisão de se antecipar esse feriado, foi do governador do estado que queria que a população ficasse em casa para não ter aglomeração de pessoas, para assim diminuir o contágio do Coronavirus. Infelizmente muitas pessoas não estão respeitando como deveriam essa medida de isolamento.

One thing I will mention is we don't really use the word "anticipation" much. It's definitely a word, but I got a little confused when I read it, since I barely see it. I don't really know a synonym to help you with. If you tend to use that term a lot, I would suggest to find another way to say it.
