The whole life of a novelist

This is a 1000 yen note. The man printed on it is Natsume Souseki. All of the Japanese have already known him. He wrote a great number of novels. One of them named “I am a cat” was written in 1905. The novel became famous after that. Before writing the novel, he taught English Literature at Tokyo University. He used to learn the speciality in England. After being famous, he quitted his teaching job and continued to focus on writing novels. In 1916, he passed away by the age of 49.

I practiced translating this one from an original Japanese paragraph.
