The Trump administration has taken office. Although it's a problem in another country, it may be of concern to us Japanese as well, because the influential President Trump has put forward policies that could overturn the status quo.
In my concern, firstly, his policy can undermine the current global trend towards emphasizing diversity. In his inaugural speech, he clearly stated that there are only men and women in the world. Minorities, such as people like LGBTQ+, will likely face tough times in the US.
In Japan, transgender issues are now gradually coming to light and pubic awareness is increasing. Same-sex marriage has only just begun to be recognized as a partnership system. The trends in the US could push Japan back.
Secondly, Trump does not support abortion, which is a huge shame to most pregnant women who don't want to give birth. As Christianity does not affect in Japanese politics, abortion is never considered murder. In this respect, Japan may be more democratic than the US.
Thirdly, Trump issued terrible executive orders and carried out. Among them, firing staff who disagree with his administration’s decisions is the worst. Will the US become an authoritarian state?
All we Japanese can do is watch.
Although it's a problem in another country, it may be of concern to (us Japanesein Japan/Japanese people) as well, because the influential President Trump has put forward policies that could overturn shake up the status quo.
"overturn the status quo" sounds like there's a specific status quo you have in mind.
InAs for my concerns, firstly, his policy can undermine the current global trend towards emphasizing diversity.
Minorities, such as people like LGBTQ+LGBTQ+ people, will likely face tough times in the US.
"such as" and "like" are a little redundant as they both read here like giving an example. LGBTQ+ is generally used as an adjective.
As Christianity does not affect in Japanese politics, abortion is never considered murder.
Thirdly, Trump issued terrible executive orders and carried them out.
All we Japanese (people) can do is watch.
Generally, Japanese (and other nationalities ending in -ese like Chinese or Sudanese) is used as an adjective, not as a noun.

The Trump administration has taken office.
Although it's a problem in another country's problem, it may be of concern to us Japanese as well, because the influential President Trump has put forward policies that could overturn the status quo.
In my concern, firstly, Firstly, I'm concerned that his policy canies may undermine the current global trend towards emphasizing diversity.
In his inaugural speech, he clearly stated that there are only men and women in the world.
Minorities, such as people like LGBTQ+LGBTQ+ people, will likely face tough times in the US.
In Japan, transgender issues are now gradually coming to light and pubic awareness is increasing.
Same-sex marriage has only just begun to be recognized as a legal partnership system.
I'm unsure if I should have erased "system" here because I don't know how Japan refers to partnerships.
The trends in the US could push Japanese policies back.
Secondly, Trump does not support abortion, which is a huge shame to most pregnantthreat to women who don't want to give birth.
As Christianity does not affect in Japanese politics, abortion iwas never considered murder.
In this respect, Japan may be more democratic than the US.
Thirdly, Trump issued terrible executive orders and had them carried out.
Among them, firing staff who disagree with his administration’s decisions is the worst.
Will the US become an authoritarian state?

In my concern, firstly, My first concern is that his policy can undermine the current global trend towards emphasizing diversity.
You can also say, "Firstly, in my opinion, his policy can..."
In his inaugural speech, he clearly stated that there are only men and women in the world.
You have a tendency to add 2 spaces instead of 1, so please keep a lookout for that! Oftentimes, this is the only correction I have to make.
Minorities, such as people like LGBTQ+LGBTQ+ people, will likely face tough times in the US.
Since you're already saying "such," you don't need to say "like" as well since you're already making the comparison.
In Japan, transgender issues are just now gradually coming to light, and public awareness is increasing.
This correction isn't necessary, but I think it gets across the point better.
Same-sex marriage has only just begun to be recognized as a partnership system.,
The and these trends in the US could push Japan back.
I think it's better to connect these two sentences, as they share the same idea: "Japan is making progress, but because of the US, this progress will be set back."
Secondly, Trump does not support abortion, which is a huge shame to mostbig issue for pregnant women who don't want to give birth.
"A huge shame" is quite an understatement, I would say. "Shame" makes me think of something that's a minor inconvience *most* of the time. And since "most" pregnant women don't necessary want an abortion, I took it out for clarity.
Thirdly, Trump has issued terrible executive orders and carried out.
I think it's unnecessary to add the last part, but you could also say, "Thirdly, Trump has issued terrible executive orders that he has both intends to carry out and already has carried out." If someone were saying this in a speech, you could put stress on a few words to make it sound more dire.

I think this is a very insightful piece, and I'm very pleased as an American to see people from Japan talking about it, as it makes me feel less alone. While I've been in Japan, most people who talk to me about American politics like Trump without knowing anything about him or what he's currently doing in the US. During both the election and now, when he's finally president, I've never felt so alone, as I know no one here truly understands what it'll be like for me to go back to the US. I have grieved both my friends and family that may be struggling, and I have grieved for the life I may have once I return. Let's both do our best to stay aware of worldwide events and take actions that will better our countries.

We don't say 'partnership system' when referring to marriage, instead we're more likely to use terms like "legal union".

Great job!
I appreciate your concern for my country (America). I didn't vote for Trump, instead I voted for Harris. It is concerning seeing things unfold over here with this administration upending our democratic institutions. One thing that I hope for is that Japan's relations with the US can still remain strong. In my opinion, Japan is the US's most reliable ally in Asia alongside South Korea and Taiwan. I think it's best if we can rely on each other to maintain peace and international norms across the Pacific Ocean. Even if President Trump somehow causes tensions between the Japanese and American governments, I hope that the people can overcome them and still be friendly.

In many ways, the USA is becoming similar to Russia. The erosion of democracy might be a result of extreme income gaps. The USA could be described as an oligarchy. Will Japan become the same way?
