Today is lunar July the seventh, it is also the Tanabata Festival which most people regard as Chinese Valentine's Day.
The festival originates from a tale. Long long ago, there was a girl named Zhinv (means weaver). She was the seventh daughter of the Emperor who's the king of the universe. One day, she was curious of the zone where human beings lived so she left the sky with her elder sisters. They went to the market and had a good time. They felt tired soon, so they decided to take a shower in a beautiful lake.
There was a man named Niulang (means cowboy) who was very poor and all he had was a buffalo. He wasn't able to get married because of his poverty, so he was very sad for a long time. All of a sudden, the buffalo stared to talk one day and told Niulang that he had a solution. He asked Niulang to obey his instructions totally. The he led Niulang to a lake where some beautiful girls were taking a shower pleasantly. "Did you see the clothes over there? Just take it here and hide for a while." The buffalo said. And Niulang did what he was asked. Minutes later, the girls started to get dressed and left. But there was a girl fell behind who couldn't find her clothes. She was so worried and cry quickly. Then Niulang showed up and told her that he would give the clothes back to her if she married him. Zhinv had to agree with him.
Time wasn't equivalent between the sky and earth. So when the Empress discovered her daughter's marriage, the couple had have two kids: a boy and a girl. The Empress was so angry that she asked Zhinv to go to trial. Niulang tried to chase with his children, but the Empress drawed a galaxy to stop him. The couple couldn't be together again, so they cried a lot. Seeing what they were suffering, the magpies was moved and built a bridge by their bodies to give a chance to the couple to reunion one day a year.
When I was a kid, I was moved by the tale as well. But after reading an article, I've completely felt disgusted of it. In a sense, Niulang is a criminal. He peeked Zhinv taking a shower was illegal. He took her clothes away without permit was stealing. And he forced her to marry him made him a raper.
I hate the tale and hate the people who make it as a love story. It is disgusting. And I hope there will be more people to realize this point, especially women.

The Tanabata Festival
Today is lLunar July the seventh, i. It is also the Tanabata Festival which most people regard as Chinese Valentine's Day.
Theis festival originates from a tale.
Long, long ago, there was a girl named Zhinv (which means 'weaver').
She was the seventh daughter of the Emperor, who' is the king of the universe.
Writing the words separately as "who is" just makes it a bit easier to understand, especially when reading out loud.
One day, she was curious of the zoneabout the realm where human beings lived so she left the sky with her elder sisters.
They went to the market and had a good time.
They soon felt tired soon, so they decided to take a showerrelax and wash in a beautiful lake.
The sentence sounds a little better with "soon" as the 2nd word, especially with it being in a story style.
Also, "take a shower" sounds like quite a modern-day action, so it doesn't suit this old tale.
There was a man named Niulang (which means 'cowboy) '), who was very poor and a. All he had was a buffalo.
The last part needs to be a separate sentence to make sense. Or, you could say:
"who was very poor and had only one buffalo." Either is fine.
He wasn't able to get married because of his poverty, so he was very sad for a long time.
All of a sudden, the buffalo stared to talk one day and told Niulang that he had a solution.
He asked Niulang to obey his instructions totallyword for word.
Then he led Niulang to a lake where some beautiful girls were taking a shower pleasantbathing peacefully.
"Dido you see the clothes over there?
Just take itBring them here and hide for a while."
"Clothes" is a plural word, so we need to use "them".
T said the buffalo said.
And Niulang did what he was asked.
Minutes later, the girls started to get dressed and leftave.
But there was aone girl fellleft behind who couldn't find her clothes.
She was so worried and cry quicklstarted to cry.
Then Niulang showed up and told her that he would give the clothes back to her if she married him.
Zhinv had to agree with him.
Time wasn't equivalent between the sky and earth.
So, when the Empress discovered her daughter's marriage, the couple had havealready had two kids: a boy and a girl.
"had had" is called 'the past perfect' tense. It's used for one past event which happened before another past event.
Event 1 = the couple has kids -> past perfect "had had"
Event 2 = the Empress discovered this -> past simple "discovered"
The Empress was so angry that she askdemanded Zhinv to go to trial.
The word "asked" sounds quite calm and polite, but the Empress is very angry, so a stronger word like "demanded" would be better.
Niulang tried to chaserun away with his children, but the Empress drawedew a galaxy to stop him.
"To chase" means to pursue someone/something else.
The couple couldn't be together again, so they cried a lot.
Seeing wthat they were suffering, the magpies wasere moved, and so built a bridge bywith their bodies to give a chance to the couple a chance to reunionte one day a year.
How many magpies are there? Be careful with your verbs:
"the magpie was moved" or "the magpies were moved"
When I was a kid, I was moved by the tale as well.
But after reading an article, I've feel completely felt disgusted ofby it.
In a sense, Niulang is a criminal.
He peeked at Zhinv taking a showerwhile she was bathing, which was illegal.
He took her clothes away without permitssion, which was stealing.
And he forced her to marry him which made him a raperist.
I hate the tale and hate the people who make it as a love story.
It is disgusting.
And I hope there will beat more people towill realize this point, especially women.
Feedback
I understand your opinion. A lot of folk tales in my culture are also 'censored' or altered. Original stories about princesses often include forced or underage marriage, amongst other not-so-nice things. The Disney Princess movies like Rapunzel and Beauty and the Beast have rather disturbing origins.
But I think that it can be a good thing to re-invent these tales. For example, for children's benefit. What do you think?
