The Sweet Fragrant Olives

In the morning, I went to the doctor and had a urine test and a blood test. Including the cost of the medicine, the total came to over ten thousand yen, which left me stunned by the unexpected expense.
In the afternoon, I spent about an hour reading in the garden. The sweet fragrance of the fragrant olives (osumanthus) was drifting through the air, and I felt it would be a shame to go back inside.
It was a long time since I’d spent such a leisurely, graceful time in the garden.

In the _, doesn't work at the start. Unexpected and stunned are the same. it can be written this way, with stunned at the end for effect. Repeating fragrance is a flag, but fragrant olives is also strange so it matches and seems okay to me. The rest is very sweet.

The sweet fragrancescent of the fragrant olives (osumanthus) was drifting through the air, and I felt it would be a shame to go back inside.

Maybe a nitpick but "fragrance of fragrant" feels repetitive, so using a synonym for fragrance would be better. "Scent" or "smell" would work here. The original phrasing isn't wrong, this is just a style suggestion
