The Side Effect of Hot Pot
In my previous entries, I talked about hot pots. It is definitely a well-known popular dish that is accepted by many people. One of my friends who has been working for a pharmacy company for about 5 years, once told me that hot pot that made in CCCC (city name), my hometown, is not healthy. CCCC contributes to the highest rate of diabetes and hypertension in China( though I cannot confirm his words). The primary reason is that two-thirds of the spicy soup is made up of oil. Due to the facts, most residents in CCCC are used to eating hot pots frequently, making a large number of people suffer from these diseases. Therefore, I suggest people try non-spicy hot pots or reduce the oil quantity and decrease the spiciness level . Fortunately, more and more people have begun to prioritize health rather than taste recently.

I try not to drink the broth when having hot pot for this exact reason. As tasty as it is, all that fat isn't super good for you.
