The rainy season in Northern Myanmar
Arriving in the remote northwestern town of Myanmar was nothing like I had expected. The skies and rain poured with relentless fury. For an entire month, not a single dry patch of earth could be found. The downpour was so constant that my clothes, already soaked and never having a chance to dry, clung to me with the damp, mouldy scent of decay. Every attempt to hang them up to dry was futile as the air was thick with moisture. The winds, ferocious and unyielding, howled like wolves, shaking the very foundation of the houses. I barely stepped foot outside, imprisoned by the storm, as the drains overflowed with muddy water, transforming the streets into chaotic rivers. Trees swayed frantically in the wind. The sky was continuously lit by blinding flashes of thunder, and I felt as though the deities of the elements were battling above us.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words. To be honest, it took me about 2 hours to write that, even though it’s a short paragraph. I’ve been preparing for the IGCSE with English as first language, so I have been working hard on my English writing. My writing in class is pretty terrible actually.
