The person who taught me something important

Life is a philosophy, and as long as we breathe we have to face whatever fate throws to us. I try to respect all what comes in my way because it can help me in developing my personality. That's why I believe that self acceptance is the key to happiness. I learned this about a few months ago, quite recently. It was right after I had gone through the hardest two years of my life. However, there had been some people who helped me to understand something significant.
As I entered the adolescense, I had pretty many insecurities about myself. About my looks, personality, gesture, etc. I was blind to notice my positive traits. I could even start crying if I got a compliment. I really believed that I couldn’t be myself but I wanted to be. It was like my heart was in a battle with my brain. When I turned 15, I finally started breaking down the wall of low self-esteem. One of the biggest factors were my friends. They helped me a lot in overcoming my insecurities. They teached me that self-love isn't selfish, vain or rude. A huge gap lies between confidence and vanity, and my friends have showed me that difference. Confidence allows you to broaden your horizons, while vanity cripples you from seeing anything beyond yourself. My friends helped me to observe my own worth and some unique traits I have. They made me stop caring about society's opinion. So what if I'm not dressed “right”— most people have better things to worry about. And even those who don’t will hardly remember it a half-hour later. They have given me such a gift - freedom to walk around with my head held high and live my life without seeking others’ approval. Will people out there judge me? Of course some will. But does their judgment matter? No. As long as I am happy with my decisions and living my life the way I feel is healthiest and happiest, that’s what truly matters.
My friends helped me start loving myself and grow natural, free and strong. They have truly changed my life.

Corrections

Life is a philosophy, and as long as we breathe we have to face whatever fate throws ato us.

I try to respect all what comes in my way because it can help me in developing my personality.

"Comes my way" is more common than "comes in my way."
"Gets in my way" is also commonly used when talking about obstacles that get in your way.

That's why I believe that self -acceptance is the key to happiness.

However, there had been some people who helped me to understand itwhat happened to me during that time.

I think it sounds better if you are more specific here, rather than using "it." I interpreted what I thought you meant by "it" but I could be wrong.

As I entered the adolescensce, I had pretty many insecurities about myself.

About my looks, personality, gesture, etc.

"Gestures" feels too specific to be in this list. Unfortunately I can't think of a better replacement.

I was too blind to notice my positive traits.

I cwould even start crying if I got a compliment.

One of the biggest factors wereas my friends.

One -> was

My friends helped me start loving myself and to grow natural, free and strong.

Instead of "gesture", I would probably say "the way I act". Great text!
