The Osaka Expo No.4

The Lithuanian booth was really interesting. Many medicinal herbs were on display. It seems that nowadays they are applied in drug development by pharmaceutical companies.

When I think about how, in the Middle Ages, women who used herbs to cure illnesses were treated as witches, I wonder what the Christian Church was really there for.

リトアニアのブースは実に興味深かった。多くの薬草が展示されていた。今では製薬会社で薬の開発に応用されているらしい。
中世の時代、女性たちが病気を治すのに薬草を使うと魔女として扱われたとことを思うとキリスト教会って何のためにあったのかと思う。
