The last working day of this year

The last working day is here.
Today was starting typically. A daily meeting was held, and then regular working time continued. However, after lunchtime, the atmosphere changed.
We had planned a white elephant gift exchange event around 2 pm, and everyone was looking forward to it. My present was a box of fancy chocolate.
Finally, the event time was coming, and we enjoyed the time. We rolled a D6 dice and swapped someone's present if needed. In the end, I've got a handmade Bongo cat plush. It was adorable, and it was made by one of our co-op students who will leave the office today, so it was a very special gift for me.
I let the co-op students go and said goodbye. It happens almost every 6 months, but it never gets used to.
We could call our day earlier after the event ended, but I stayed late because there were some tasks I needed to finish before the holiday closure.
My 2week holiday will start tomorrow. I will focus on English study and drawing during this break. And, if I have spare time, I will paint my kitchen wall and update our power outlets this holiday.

Today was startinged typically.

You would use "was starting" if there was more information about the start. For example, the day was starting typically, but...

MyThe present I bought was a box of fancy chocolate.

clarification

[Finally, the event time was coming, and we enjoyed the time.]

Needs revision. 1. the word "time" appears twice. 2. there are two distinct time periods: before and during the event. Two sentences would be better.

In the end, I've got a handmade Bongo cat plush.

It happened once. "I received a cat."

[I let the co-op students go] and said goodbye.

This phrasing makes it sound as if you are in charge of the co-op students. If that is true, then the sentence is perfect. If not, you could just say goodbye.

It happens almost every 6six months, but itI never gets used to it.

"get used to something" is a set phrase

We could call our day earlier after the event ended, but I stayed late because there were some tasks I needed to finish before the holiday closure.

There are more time words than needed in the sentence (earlier, after, late, before). There is nothing wrong with that, but you could say the same thing with fewer of them. For example, you could delete "earlier"

My 2two week holiday will start tomorrow.

We usually write out single digit numbers in a narrative.

And, if I have spare time, I will paint my kitchen wall and update our power outlets this holiday.

If it is just one wall, keep it singular. If you will paint more than one wall, you could make it plural or just say "I will paint the kitchen" because walls are implied.

Feedback

Some very well constructed sentences. Enjoy your holiday break!

Thanks for your feedback! I was one of the responsible person during their co-op term(interviewed them and supported their work). Is it same meaning “I am charging”?
And thanks for teaching me set phrase! It really helps.

Never mind, it’s sounds still awkward.. see them off is better! I am not fired them..I wanted to say ‘붙잡고 싶었지만 그렇게 못 하고 가게 둘 수 밖에 없었다(I wanted they would stay but I couldn’t, so I just saw they left)‘ in my language.

1. Yes, if you are "in charge of the co-op workers" it means you oversee their work, so sounds like that was your role. "Being in charge" is like being a supervisor, but it can be an informal role in some situations. For example, I could walk into a room where people are working and look around for the person in charge, or maybe someone was in charge of setting up the white elephant gifts on a table for your event. It means they had that role, job, or responsibility.

2. "See them off" does not convey any regret. It is entirely neutral.
Google Translate of the Korean helps me to understand you didn't just say goodbye. You wished they could stay, but they couldn't. You can definitely express these mixed feelings in English, but the grammar might have to be different. The conjunction "but" shows a contrast between what you have to do and what you wish:
"It was time to let the co-op students go, although I wanted them to stay."
"I wanted the co-op students to stay, but I had to let them them go."
"I said goodbye to the co-op students, but I wished they were not leaving."
"I said goodbye to the co-op students, but I wished they didn't have to go."

In English "hold on to" can have the meaning of a strong physical holding--not always, but for that reason it might not be the best option for this situation. For example, on the first day of kindergarten, a young child might hold on to her parent when the teacher tries to get her to come into the classroom and join the other children.
