The important stuff for my family

I think it is some photos of my grand grand parents which were kept in my grandfather’s house. I have seen these pictures since I was a child. At that time, my grandfather told me some stories about them. I really don’t know how my family got those pictures, but they have been being kept there for so many years. The reason they are so valuable for my family is that our family was separated by the war between the Communist Party of China and Guomingtang a century ago. After Guomingtang lost this war, they were exile to Taiwan. So even we were so close to each other, we were not allowed to see each other because of the tension between two parties. In this case, the only thing we can do was kept the photos of each other to keep each other in our memory. On top of that, It also reminds us of our family history like how our family was formed. Most of all, It is a way to strengthen our family bond, even though we have not been keeping in touch for so many years, we always have each other in our mind and we know the existence of each other.

Feedback

- "importantly" gives the reader a stronger sense of meaning behind what they're about to read. "Most of all" is acceptable too.
- I don't think I understand the phrase "we know the existence of each other." Do you mean you know everyone who is alive in your family?
