The heat is such that the flowers on the windowsills are dying. They and I need water too often. I want to go to the ponds or the lake nearby. But I don't have time. It's already evening. The sky is getting yellow shades. But it is still hot.
The Heat
The heat is such that the flowers on the windowsills are dying.
"It's so hot that the flowers are dying" would be more natural, but this is fine. Just distinctive :)
They and I need water too often.
I want to go to the ponds or the lake nearby.
"ponds" is a little unusual, you mean something like one area that has many ponds? Like a park or something? If you just mean a pond, any pond, then you'd probably say "I want to go to one of the ponds".
But I don't have time.
It's already evening.
The sky is getting yellow shades.
"getting" like this tends to be used with adjectives, not nouns. You could say "Shades of yellow are appearing in the sky", "The sky is filling with yellow shades", "The sky is turning *a* yellow shade", "The sky is turning to shades of yellow", "There are yellow shades in the sky", lots of different ways. A simple sentence but tricky to think about, really :)
But it is still hot.
Feedback
It's very hot here too. My least favourite weather!
