The Hardest Thing I've Ever Done

The hardest thing that I've ever done is learning programming. I took up programming when I was 27. Before that, I'd never learnt anything from this area of knowledge. I considered myself more a humanitarian kind of person than a logic, analytic one. I've always loved to read fiction, books on psychology and economics, listen to music and play the guitar. At school years, I had better grades in history, geography and languages than in math or physics.
To begin with, I learned HTML/CSS markup languages. I liked making the structure of website at first, but then I got bored. I tried to go deeply and learn real programming languages like PHP and Javascript, that are also relate to web development, but they didn't work out for me. Then, after almost half a year, I started learning Python. Actually, it was the second time I started it. I tried the Python course on CodeAcademy, but the free version of the course was dull, and I couldn't learn anything from it. I got the book called 'Learn Python The Hard Way' and spent a half year studying it, from May till November 2018. I went through it at a slow pace, trying to do everything at 100 percent. It was amazing experience and I'm happy that I found that particular book, which helped me to learn programming. I won't say that the book made me a professional, but it let me to discover the wonderful world of code.

humanitarian is when things like international aid, donating money, philanthrophy, etc. I got the impression you were referring more to the humanities, which is things like literature and philosophy, as opposite to science and math.
